What is it with the WAGS causing us to lose players.. seriously.

I have an interesting theory that in this day and age with Social Media and video calling, it is much harder for people to move overseas.

Back in the 90s and early 2000s you were much more separated from home life that you left, not seeing daily updates of home and facetiming at the drop of a hat.

Now, you can be on the other side of the world and still know what your mate has for dinner every night - I'm sure it adds to the homesickness

I hope you're right but nah, if you take AFB out of our squad we're missing finals footy. Zyon Maiu’u looks the goods but he's years away. Bunty improved the least out of all our players last year and really doesn't seem to offer much. We were extremely light at prop before the AFB news dropped, since that time we haven't recruited any more middles.

We're so deep across most other positions but have let ourselves get into a pretty bad situation at prop. One more big body even if they are one dimensional would help balance our pack so much. Now with AFB leaving we need an alpha and a big body.
I think we can make finals without AFB, but he’s the difference in wether we’re winning in 24 or not.

Every other top 6 team has gotten weaker and we’ve got stronger

Such a shame, could swap him for Ice using AFB cash, especially if Luai deal fall through

Dude is in the box seat of making it as a long term 7 for us, guys really need to pick partners who can adapt and support their careers, his coach is coach of the year FFS, unless she’s like a Paris Hilton or something lol

Is Tuaupike a contender at 6 after playing there for NZ A. Useful kicker as well. Only one game but his distribution and vision seemed good. Metcalf plays at 6 like a fullback being his major strengths are anticipation and backing up.

I actually think that CHT has a huge upside at 6. His defense is at 2nd row level. He is a natural fit on the left as he is left footed and SJ needs to have someone take some of that field kicking duties off him. Lots of upsides there.

Come to think about. Metcalf must be one of the ones mentioned in a skipworth article of considering a request
Yeah he said two other players other than AFB were wanting releases. My first thought was him and Barny.

I know NZ is not that appealing compared to oz (especially if you’re from there) but sounds like it’s even less appealing to the females. Maybe the dude just like fishing etc and their partners are just board in AK. Especially if they are part of some social scene over there

Maybe it’s just Auckland that people don’t like. Everyone loves the South Island. Queenstown especially. Let’s build a stadium there and move down.

CHT is a very interesting prospect, could be anywhere from a non event to a future long term starter at a number of positions. On TWL/Fonzies podcast when talking about hooker cover he said you have to be able to tackle props. Well CHT showed he would have the defensive chops.
CHT’s defence is overrated by some of you guys. Sure he can hit hard at times however he misses a lot as well. Tackling efficiency is nowhere near a second rower or hooker level. Not to say he can’t improve it under Webster, and I really hope he does.
