Clubs can't give salary cap space to another. Not sure how that rumour is even around.
I did wonder about that. I’m pretty sure transfer fees do come out of the cap though.
Doesn’t seem right that you can increase your own cap though.

It gives the club money to spend on operations etc. Nothing to do with footballing aspect.
So just throwing a random scenario, Sharks pay us 800K, can we we sign X player 4 years 900K a year, and employ his partner as "social media manager" on 4 years on 200k a year with the Sharks $.

There was some sort of cap for operations as well. Maybe we could not afford to pay the full cap for operations or players (you have to spend at least 95%) and the $100K helps there?

Interesting he’s pulled his instagram page, wouldn’t necessarily mean he’s leaving the panthers but he’s seemed super connected to NZ in recent times.
I remember at the end of the Kiwis vs Roos match, Him & Charnze were in a long embrace & were in deep conversation. My brain at the time translated that conversation as follows

" CNK - Cuz, Keen to come to the wahs my maori? - JFH - Yeah bo! One more premiership with the pahs and I'm keen as. CNK - Don't be a build-ups kieent, we'll need you! Cos AFB's missus wants out. No one likes her kaka biscuits in Auckland. JFH - Oh truuuue cuz, Tell Andy Wahbster I'm keen as. I'll have to change my insta name to James Fisher Wahrris then ....Huhuhuhu.

Yeah. Something like that.

The problem is the Sharks giving us cash would never factor into our salary cap
Does it not? When a player is released early with the club paying some of the cap i.e dwz it does. I know this is the other way round so quite possibly not.

I’d assume cowboys could be involved here, with the dearden announcement. That’s a big contract for him. It might not allow them to keep Neame, who plays off the bench for them & made his kiwis debut. He’s a tough coaster kiwi boy. He could find his way back here.
Interesting seeing on their forum that Leilua is training in the middle rather than second row. Raiders were keen on him but sounds like they’ve lined someone else up. They also need to lock up Heilum Luki, who has interest from the dragons who have lots of cap to spare.

Warriors CEO Cameron George confirmed the arrangement included a yet-to-be-announced player swap and said the club had been in discussions with the Sharks for some time.
Has this been edited on nrl.com? Seems odd, could mean someone's in the 10 day cool-off period? 😎
