Defence Defence is this you?

Ha he picked the wrong target didn’t he- I’m miles off that level.
Actually a few years ago I did chase down and restrain a guy who was running from police.
I just happened to be putting some bins out at a shopping center (long story) and heard someone yell “stop him” so as a natural reaction I just started chasing him- funny thing was after 20m I was reeling him in pretty quick and just remember thinking- fark I’m actually gonna catch him! wtf am I gonna do now :ROFLMAO:

A woman who accused Conor McGregor of raping her has won her claim against him for damages in a civil case.
A jury found that the Irish mixed martial arts fighter assaulted Nikita Hand in a Dublin hotel in December 2018.
He has been ordered to pay her more than €248,000 (£206,000) in damages.
Speaking outside the court on Friday, Ms Hand said her story was "a reminder that no matter how afraid you might be to speak up, you have a voice".

Nikita Hand said she was "overwhelmed" by support after taking the case against McGregor
The jury at the High Court in Dublin had been deliberating for a day before returning its verdict that McGregor did assault Ms Hand.
She had also taken a case against another man, James Lawrence, 35, of Rafter's Road, Drimnagh in Dublin.
She alleged that he assaulted her by having sex with her without her consent in the Beacon Hotel.
The jury found that he did not assault her.
Ms Hand told reporters said she was "overwhelmed and touched" by the support she had received.
She added: "I want to show [my daughter] Freya and every other young girl and boy that you can stand up for yourself if something happens to you, no matter who the person is, and that justice will be served."
Both men had denied the claims by the 35-year-old hair colourist and said they separately had consensual sex with Ms Hand at the hotel almost six years ago.
Before being sent out to consider their verdicts on Thursday afternoon, the judge Mr Justice Alex Owens reminded the jury that the onus of proof was on the plaintiff.
He also explained that the standard of proof was on the balance of probabilities - more probable than not.

I have seen the headlines for this case but besides seeing one video earlier in the week and one I ma listening to now after the verdict. I haven't followed this closely.

The first video went over the evidence for both sides. Her side with the bruising and another piece of evidence are tough to hear. Then a lot of the CCTV footage and some of the other witnesses more aligned with his side.

This has been going on for a long time. She first went to the Irish DPP (District of Public Prosecutions) and they didn't have enough evidence to prosecute. Their statistics don't seem great, something like they only prosecute 14% of cases. So she did go the criminal route first.

She has stuck to it and got to tell her side of the story in front of a jury. Hopefully she can now move on.

For him will this be a wake up call?

Really really sketchy situation.
The expert evidence was pretty harrowing.

Both this lady and another complaint had their houses broken in and threatened by masked men.

I didn't know about the break in.

It is a bit of a mess. Both of them had partners at home.

Her lawyers did the right thing in saying she isn't perfect. That she was out looking for a good time and got more than she expected. Best to admit your faults, the jury then sees that you are willing concede somethings. Her lawyers can then keep it focused on the key parts of the case.

It sounds like here testimony played a big part. There is a push for SA victims to not take the stand. We had a journalist here who lists herself as a MeToo reporter mention this while reporting on a case. Saying how horrific the allegations were. The problem with that case the person was lying and ended up losing the case. I heard of some cases in the U.S about male college students that got expelled just on allegations. Both cases when they could get more details the case quickly changed.

It is a tough ask taking the stand. Unfortunately for a court case you need to get the full information out. One case we had in NZ about not putting the victim on trial I agree with. That was a murder trial where the accused put blame on the deceased.

For this case the big things are the treatment she needed to get afterwards. Also the bruising. If it didn't happen during that night surely everyone would have asked her earlier in the night what happened to you.

Thank you Mitchell!
Knock these blokes out that pull guard like that.
How Gracie got a Main Card spot was crazy after he did this same boring shit in his last fight.
