Leka has big Mal Meninga energy. Leka & a 19 year old Mal were so similar in build , power & speed.

A phenomenal young backrower with incredible flexibility to play in the backline as well.
Leka could very well become a game breaking centre in the future! He needs to practise his toe poke goal kicking and we have a Mal 2.0!
Halasima might be a center that never was eh.

Classic case of seeing a kid that grows too fast physically, is the biggest forward on the field in under thirteens, ends up being a Center sized adult....too late...has already been hot housed as a forward.

The Warriors are classics at this, except they usually do it in reverse, take the fast child prop and turn them into a winger.
WTF?

49% of youse rated a B???????

Please explain!

Too high or too low?

Please extrapolate.

NZWarriors.com

The ref screwed up by being too lenient on multiple sin bin able offences. He got his hand forced by the bunker who more letter of the law after that.

The competition screwed up when they allowed open season on Warriors players heads the year the Sponsor spewed about it on twitter or whatever platform it was.

Now we seem to think touching the neck or jaw for effect when there is no actual injury is how the intent of the game was born of the tough men who made it what it is.

There used to be a thing where players who got hit accidentally and were not seriously hurt, would get up off the floor to show they weren't milk deprived as infants - in the same spirit that players would decline to dob one another in at the judiciary.

Yes the rules are the rules and yes they are for important reasons to protect peoples safety, but when you cry for trivial incidents you make your sport trivial.

Eh May is 2 cm shorter, 3 kg heavier and he's a top 5 prop. I don't think Leka's bodyshape is that far off being a forward. Not to say he wouldn't be a class center. But in my eyes the faster we can move on marata and capes the better.

My point is really that the coaches cannot predict the eventual physical end product, Where players end up therefore cannot always be assumed to be their best use - given it is ultimately prediction/guess work.

I am sure he is going to be a fine forward, his size is not a negative as a forward, I agree he is big enough.

Preach.

Every team is looking for favourable moments in every game.

The whole mentality has changed from players doing every thing they can to be on the field, to players clawing at every possible moment to go in their teams favour and discards areas of weakness that need improvement.

It's shit and I hate that we're one of the perpetuators of this attitude. It puts an asterisk on every win that ordinarily should be celebrated and

Winning is the goal. How you achieve that appears not as important or even the slightest bit relevant.

It's a business. Performance matters not ethics.

Strange take. He is listed as 185cm which is taller than both of the starting Panthers backrowers last weekend. Didn't realise there was a certain size for NRL centres. I am just happy we have someone of his talent playing for us, Looks to be the best of all our junior forwards that have come through.

We will never know is my point.

I am not saying he should not be a forward at all.

Tis probably his best position....probably...

Ruben Wiki. Centre to the forwards in a great transition.

Leka might do the reverse. Not likely but neither is his current trajectory
Leka if slowly given some mins like what AW is doing should increase his engine. Which could develop him into the perfect capes replacement. Great 2nd rower but can move into center on a pinch. Maybe even wing...

Laban should make for a perfect marata replacement as well. Not as damaging a runner but lighter on his feet, just as big of an engine, less mistakes and will compete for a high ball unlike marata.

I think we could have the best back row in the comp next year.

How on brand would it be for the NRL with the Wahs being hard done by with the Luai high shot clearly being bin worthy but doesn't get sent, then the following week we end up with 3 shitty soft sin bins for high shots.

Super glad we're not playing this week
Might be an unpopular opinion and I know there are potential consequences either way, but I'm kind of glad the refs haven't been using the sin bins as much this year. I think they have been over used and affects the game too much.

Tgere is no issue with the players we have, whatever position.the real problem is vision and passing and kicking skills. Adding to that there is a general lack of guile in creating space for the strike players like Ali. The lead ups to Metcalf and Halasima tries were good and what we need more of.
That really isn't the most rocket sciency science. It's knowing how to

1. Create an overlap with numbers
2. How to bend a defensive line to force it to compress.
3. How to break a defensive line and capitalise off it.

Basically what you learn when there's no coach and no teacher. Just kids and a ball.
