The Warriors forum is buzzing with discussion about team selections for the upcoming match against the Tigers, particularly in light of a potential injury to RTS. Many fans, including sydneywarrior92 #38, advocate for resting RTS as a precaution, suggesting bringing in Berry and shifting Pompey to the wing to maintain existing combinations. Concerns around relying on Harper or Kosi are prevalent, fans like Playdaball #48 sydneywarrior92 #59 expressing strong reservations about their inclusion. Recent discussions highlight the importance of a settled lineup moving into the game, with injuries forcing team members to play different positions, as noted by Tookey 2.0 #34.
Debates have emerged regarding the fullback position, with some suggesting TMM should take over to inject more playmaking ability, as suggested by Dannevegas #62, though Inruin #63 questions his suitability based on preseason performance. There's also discussion around CNK's value, even after his strong performance, Makasene #99 pointing out potential limitations in his attacking threat and expressing reservations about his try assists. This has sparked discussion about the long-term fullback solution, weighing the strengths of CNK versus Taine Tuaupiki, as explored by Makasene #110 and others.
The forum also touches on the team's forward pack and overall game plan. Some, like wizard of Tauranga #100, worry about the sustainability of their physical style and the potential for increased injury risk. However, others, including sydneywarrior92 #102, argue that the team's physicality is a strength and that injuries are an inherent part of the game. The odds for the game have also been a topic, with Tookey 2.0 #83 noting the odds are surprisingly in the Tigers' favor despite the Warriors' recent strong performances. sydneywarrior92 #86 suggests this could be due to media narratives favoring the Tigers.
Exactly mate. I'm one of those and I do it knowing it has absolutely zero bearing on actual selection. That's why the thread is called Pick Your Team.
Alot of people saying warriors have the better forward pack
Backing the warriors to win three in a row
Tigers 1.65
Warriors 2.25
That's the "pull in case of emergency" lever.
Will definitely be putting down money on us this week. Let's be honest NRL sporting odds are a way of shaping a media narrative. Media want Wests to be the feel good story of the year, so any sign that they are doing well they will blow it up 100x. I suspect nrl 360 this week will be all about how Benji has transformed the tigers into top 8 contenders after just 3 rounds, even though they've only knocked off teams 15 and 16. Yet to prove themselves against a serious footy side.Absolutely wild odds imo.
Weve knocked off two pretty good teams and our defence has only conceded 22 in the last 2 weeks.
I would have had us favourites, so that's extremely good odds, might have to get on that
yep totally agree. We don't do well when we get talked up. I like that this is at Campbelltown, rather than Liechardt. Given the two tough ones after the bye (Broncs and Melbourne), we need to find a way to leave with the 2 pts. Starting the season 3-3 or 4-2 with one bye before Anzac Day should be our goal. But thats good. Let them back us as underdogs. Thats when we thrive.
The whole talk will be Benji and the feel good story (and tbf it is a good story considering how they been previously).
None the less it will be a tough game at Campbelltown
We only play one game in the next 23 days, let's hope Rodger recovers and only misses the one. That's the "pull in case of emergency" lever.
What about a straight swap? Roger out.... someone in.
Never realised that.We only play one game in the next 23 days, let's hope Rodger recovers and only misses the one.
If yesterday's crazy match in Manly taught us anything, it is that we need to be prepared for a parochial home crowd orchestrating a ref stitchup. Wests fans in Campbelltown/Liechardt can be every bit as feral as the Manly fans were last night. We need to be dominant in the middle without pushing the envelope in the ruck which Canberra were prepared to do last night. That 80-20 possession stats for the first half was just nuts.
Kinda worried our game plan isn’t sustainable.Glad our boys have a 9 day turnaround, we had 2 tough, bruising games in a row...
Need to draw the Tigs into that style of play and we got em...
