18 months ago Trindall got (allegedly, never believe nrl salary reporting) 2.5M over 3 years to stay at the sharks. Not dissimilar to Boyd, rated junior, stop and start career, then starts playing better than his more famous halves partner. Add in some salary cap rise and “you have to live in Auckland” tax.

I don’t know who’s giving Tanwah a million, cowboys make sense, maybe he has a glorious homecoming to the GC. A lot of other teams have recently spent money on a 7.

Clearly never part of the long term planning that he would play like this, would have a bunch of flow on effects, Jett Cleary for example might as well pack his bags the minute any extension is announced

Dragons possibly?

I don't get the negativity here. He is probably the best 7 we have in our squad. Every other half we have is a non kicking 6. This guy is game managing kicking halfback. He's bang for buck, experienced yet youthful, always been rated in Aus, and is only on a 2 year deal. On SEN the Australian presenters really rate the guy, saying he's an amazing team man and hardest working player at the Titans. He's a low risk signing with upside. Yes not a game breaker, but he's not a star signing.

Hopefully he finds the same success as Barnett, Montoya and Ford - Meh signings for most on this forum who punched way above their weight.
This man deserves a medal

Because these three games of Boyd's at seven are better than the best three games Metcalf ever played at seven, and by a significant margin I reckon. It shouldn't even be a question. And he's getting better each game.
I think you are just attributing the teams success to just 1 player (which is common when it comes to halfbacks). I would argue Chanel played better than Tannah in round 1.

I would rather Metcalfs x factor and his mindset/execution under pressure situations

Yep pull the trigger and see if we can tell Barney that Ford has surpassed him in three games so Barney now has to play centre.

Im just taking the piss but using Barney vs Ford as an example. As you were.

*Edit
It's like we're preparing a Dear John letter for Metcalf while he's been away at knee rehabilitation. We're pregnant to your back up and now you're his backup.

Yours sincerely

Look our packs dominance is a big reason for this all and CHT was fantastic game one.....but Boyd has been off the hook for 3 games now. There have been very few and you could argue none....that have played better than him so far in the whole comp.

Aren't you doing the same to DallyM Metcalf?

DallyM shouldn't be used as an argument for a player being better either IMO. It's clear there is a lot of bias and ill judged results in that.

It's a similar pack to last season albeit our youth have another season under their belts. The difference in play and organization this season versus last season is quite stark. Certainly not down to just Boyd, and still a long way to go but at this point in time replacing Boyd with Metcalf would be a mistake as far as I'm concerned. I'm in the LM to 6 camp where his x factor can be utilized without the burden of learning on the go how to play 7. Boyd at 7 because he is tge best actual true 7 we have. . That's a bit of a bummer to CHT with how he has played over the last year and a bit, but I feel him at 14 would be best for the team.

Hell, Metcalf could breakdown again after a handful of games anyway.

You're right, pulling the dally M was lazy way of reminding everyone how good he was. I get I am in the minority but I do back Lukey met over Tannah.
