Sort of similar to Afganistan
The Taliban routes the Afghan National Army
In fact the Ana just melted away
Ditto here in Syria the Assad Gov Army just melted away one article said 2000 left with rolling equipment over to Iraq.
Another report said Assad s escape plane was shot down but prob bs.

Are ISIS the west too? Or did they start out as CIA proxies and then tried to go it alone and take over the Levant themselves
Multiple branches of ISIS/AQ. And while some were formed and funded by the CIA/MOSSAD, a lot a guys go off on their own agenda.

The goal is to own your enemy so a larger one doesn’t appear

Did that backfire for Israel owning Hamas? Or does Iran own Hamas. Who owns who?

The way the media has been covering this is quite interesting. Basically…..
The despot Bashar Al Assad gets deposed by a bunch of terrorists…… (which is exactly what happened)

Yeah but, who cares because at least the Russians have taken an L……. (This is a HUGE L haha)

Yeah but, “Freedom and Democracy”……. (Whatever that conveniently means)

“No no, they’re not terrorists. They’re reformed rebels”…… (No they’re just terrorists)

Many Syrian “experts” on the news saying what and amazing day it is (which it kinda is tbh).
But hold on, are you an “expert” giving me an objective, informed pov. Or are you an activist celebrating the fall of an evil dictator? (Which he was). Those are two very different things…… with two very different intentions.

Interesting times we live in. lol
And in this world of information and disinformation. It’s only going to get worse.

On this point is 50/50. Syria was a Russian ally, but for the last decade its been a drain on Russian military. No doubt there was significant trade going on, but Russia was definitely a generous benefactor. What has subsequently happened is USA/Israel tried to give Russia another problem set designed to force Russia to commit more troops, time, money and focus onto the Syrian campaign, to weaken them in the Ukraine theatre.

Russia doesnt dance to their tune though and did what, I assume they didnt count on, which was to withdraw entirely from the AO. I'm unsure of the wider geo-political ramifications of this.

There's also the ramifications for the pipeline and whether the new Syrian govt will be agreeable, and the question of the Kurds and the Rus bases. Too many unknowns and intangibles for me to get a grasp on.
