Having edges who can move sideways made our defence look much better. Marata to run the water for the season?Great result! Hitting round 1 and we looked prepared. Compare that to Vegas last season where we looked shell shocked. Good to see.
Happy for Boyd and I hope this kicks his confidence levels up a couple of notches. He organized the team well and that allows CHT, who has carried on from last season, to do his thing.
All round team effort - Ali didn't have the best game but I'd stick with him.
Best things for me is that it appears that we are seeing a lot of what many had highlighted. Using the ball with controlled offloads, asking questions in attack, Egan getting a spell, good shape in the opposition 20.
Only one game but I'm loving what I'm seeing.
Side note: No Marata and our best performance for a long time
Our PD never looked so good
MOM for chooks was Ali. We play anyone on his edge and this is 40-6. Replacing him is way more important than getting Metcalf or Barney back. Heck I'd even give Gannon a Crack there.
Jacko Ford=220m. Even the haters gotta admit he has become instrumental to our side.
Chooks can whine all they want about the penalty count but they were lucky they still had 12 let alone 13 remaining on the park. Their cynical tactics couldn't hide the fact that we clearly won the middle. Once that happened they just self exploded really. Their impatience and lack of finesse is why I don't see them challenging Penrith or Melbourne.

Good seeing Boyd go over. A good confidence booster. Needs to ice some of those kicks. Mainly the penalty in the first half. That was one that should have been taken.

So many contributors for that win! Was a massive team effort! Loved how they killed momentum for the Roosters once they got a talon up! Clark and JFH did that!
JFH was massive from the first hit up. Tackled like a demon. Same with Ford! Ford is just that niggly player just gets on people nerves! Awesome to see. He did it with Frank Molo and he did it with the Roosters pack. My MoM is Capewell he just did everything!

Seeing as we have a thousand halves and Jack Thompson is better than Luke Hanson, we should offer Hanson to get Patty Moi-Moi back.
He could genuinely come back and start at right centre for us.

Attack wise we were also pretty good to watch. I was worried about where our points would come from. Well 42 points shut me up. Well not really I was cheering my a$$ off.
A lot of the ball movement was nice. The second half was more holding off their momentum and getting back into the grind. The last try was nice as I was hoping they'd play some football late in the game.
Boyd going over with a dummy and run is fine. A lot of our dummies haven't been taken the last few years.
The Capewell try was some good work. Also moving the ball to the left where the last few years our set plays have mainly been right sided.
The pass that went to ground. We haven't had much off the cuff, freaky bounce plays. I'm fine with those as they are hard to defend.
Then the two off the kicks. Halasima it is good having a young athletic guy to target. Then RTS and CHT combined. Two guys that put in a lot of effort.

How could I dislike the guy, reminds me of myself on my wedding night - clearly he's excited to be there but tries to do things a bit too quickly and lacks attention to detail! = But tonight seemed more first grade ready
