Really tough matchup for the boys today but I'd love nothing more than to give Long Neck a loss in his first game for the Roosters.

Can't wait! Just touched down in Auckland from the US for this one.

Don't hold me to it but I'm a relatively good omen- last two times I made the trek to MSS was i) last year when we fielded a Cup side to down the full strength Broncos and ii) 2015 when we last beat Melbourne. Both games we won despite the odds being massively stacked against us for both games.

I think we will get at least one of the 2 home games to start the year. My gut tells me this is the one.

Wow I forgot the game was on tonight, gotta love this place. Might do an evening workout to blow the tension out before watching....pump some Iron then do the walk around the local lake.

My how game day rituals can change as you get old. From focussing on loading the fridge with naughty beersies and cooking something unhealthy.

At least if you train hard and burn out the game day anxiety - if the Warriors lose you can sit back and say "well I played hard today and you fookers didn't give me health damage".

Man this is the day we have all been patiently waiting for...finally here...like Xmas (this could age horribly, gotta post it for post match reading laughs). Hell why not go all the way! Warriors by a Tanah Boyd Drop goal!

Personally I'm grateful that it's not raining today as someone going to the game. But I think a little drizzle later in the day would help us a lot. A dewey surface is exactly what we need to turn this into a dog fight.

I really don't know what to expect this season on paper it could be one of those tough season's with our injuries and Barnetts announcement, it all feels a bit flat.
On the positive side our growth and development of our youngsters could easily spark us up and get the big W.
It will come down to how Boyd tracks and can he unlock our team like Metcalf did, also if Roosters are smart are they able throw those beautiful Foran esque cut out passes to expose Dwz again this season.
Defense and smart bench usage will see us home.
