Being US based, I'm in Vegas atm. Even though we aren't playing here there are still dozens of wahs supporters in the city. Haven't seen a single Newcastle, Cowboys, Dogs or Dragons jersey yet. It's a shame this game isn't in Vegas because we'd be rocking the joint.
had the same thought except i figured marata more suited to dishing and absorbing early punishment then get a big middle stint out of ford like the role he played last season. Also wouldnt be surprised at all to see TT at 1 and CNK at 3. purely from a try scoring angle i hope leiatau is given first crack

Based on what Webster said about the 6 man interchange, it seemed to be just fill ins rather than using it strategically for game breakers to inject into the game. He seems very concerned about the 2 players being taken out of NSW cup to sit on the bench. Will be interesting to see how coaches utilise it. Not overly convinced based on what Webster stated that we will be using it in that format you suggested.

I'd say a few coaches to start the year may fill the 2 extra spots with first graders covering the positions usually not covered on a 4 man bench. Over the season it may change as coaches need to make sure guys are getting game time so they may rotate players in and out from NSW/QD Cup.
Then come the finals clubs will likely try and get their benches as strong as possible. It will be less likely used for young guys ready to debut or build up first grade time and back to more experienced first graders.
The start of the season it might be useful for a team like us who have a few players that haven't trialled. You had that in the past as well and it can be looked at as coming back from injury. However, it is a risk having potentially CHT, RTS and Niukore all coming back from injury. Often guys come back from niggles and it can flare up.
What I'm interested in is when an HIA happens early in a game to a halfback, fullback or winger. Positions in the past you may not have covered on the bench. Instead coaches would move a player to cover. Do they cover like they have in the past until to see if the player fails the HIA protocols? Or do they replace the player with someone who can cover that position. The player then comes back from an HIA and they move on rotating out the other 3 bench spots.
The above situation would likely be a guy coming on once which often happened in the past. Not all interchanges are guys coming off and returning. Some would come off the field and their replacement stays on. It is more a situation that may occur early in a game where a coach may look short term or look at how it affects their bench use later.
Like a lot of changes to the sport there will be a bit of experimenting. I wouldn't be surprised if a coach makes a mistake with their interchanges and ends up disadvantaged or there is a situation not thought about when the rule was discussed and we have a coach blowing up about it.

he was bashing the Vegas spectacle on the last episode I watched as nothing more than a cash grab. He should come to Vegas one of these days for the event before he has the temerity to deny the success of the event- yawnion generally has nothing like it.
