Facebook is filled with people calling Tuaupiki a hungus & apparently bombing tries by being selfish.
CNK has just 16 Try Assists as the Warriors Fullback in 61 appearances & went on a streak of 17 games last year without a LB Assist.
I personally don't see us icing more opportunities if CNK was our #1 last night. He's superior is some aspects but contributing to points ain't one

The atmosphere at the game was electric, crowd was incredible to be part of i thought.
Also how pleasing to see a Wellington crowd want to stay till the very end, nothing like seeing a packed stadium from the aerials while the players are shaking hands, brilliant, well done Wellywood.

Also thank fook the Warriors shook off the NZ away ground curse/particularly their long history of letting Wellingtonians down.

Yeah CNK is a cock killer with the ball, c'mon.

I think Taine has not had enough continuous game time to work on his passing issues and to develop better timing (don't come at me with age, all our players lack high accuracy passing outside of Egan. And Gannon who we obviously haven't seen yet).
Fuck he loves to hang on a vowel, eh?

Constantly trying to live up to the 'strayan stereotypes.
Made me laugh.

I don't think he is putting it on, I think it is the effect of age, trying to put colour into the tone of his voice, the combination gives a higher pitched nasally whine (mens vocal chords and larynx change as we age right?)

Blocker Roach has a thicker accent now too.

What really makes me laugh is all the Aussies that hate Mick Ennis's accent!

Ennis should get vocal coaching.

People love a thick Aussie Accent when it is delivered by a pro like Ray Warren who although Older had speech training which meant he used his chest voice not his head voice (this would sort out Ennis's talking through his nose 'Loik at Moi Loik at Moi'.

The one I can't stand is Andrew Voss because of his screaming and excessive use of hyperbole.

I've come to accept the fact that Taine is the lesser of two evils, given neither is the full package.

Wish we could find a way to make his regulation carries more servicable though. Because it completely halts momentum and he doesn't have a quick PTB to make up for getting man handled. Can't be glacially getting to your feet if you are going to get worked, he needs to improve that aspect.

Was a great crowd to be part of - aside from what sounded like one guy mouthing off in the pause between the two parts of the Last Post (along with what sounded like a lot of people in the area shushing/booing/reprimanded him) & the nanananaheyheygoodbye moment to an apparent scuffle, crowd was generally well behaved and in good spirits. Well except for the guy spewing in the urinals at half time, seemed he had too much spirits 🫣

And I think we shook off the Welly curse a while back when we beat the Tigers in 2014, been 5/6 since that game, with the forgettable Dragons donut in 2015 the only loss since then. 🙏

And I gotta say, since the stadium upgrade for the Women's Fifa WC a couple years back, the theatrics and atmosphere is way better than it used to be, really gets the blood flowing!!!👌

Oh and to whoever was dissing the Mexican Wave as a Rugby thing, literally every packed sports event I've been to at the Caketin does it, from 7s to Cricket to Soccer to probably even the WWE show 20 years ago 😅

It's just what you do there and when it goes around the stadium a few times it's an energy that's just fun t0 be part of 🥳

Tuaupiki is more suited to our team than Charnze in my opinion.

People don't like him. Even weren't happy with his match equalling try because he didn't score a better try.

Taine though, backs himself and I still have tickets to the Taine train. I'm weaning off the Charnze at fullback unless we have no other options and not at centre.

I’m a season ticket holder so go to all games at Mt Smart , so I don’t watch the local televised game, my thoughts;
- I’m sure Ken Laban doesn’t usually do the Mt Smart games. Did they bring him in as didn’t want to spend $ on an extra airfare ?
- Ken is a legend in the Wellington game with his time skippering the great Wainuiomata team
- These days I associate him with Rugby Union commentaries , having established himself as an expert in the 1st XV arena
- I thought some of his comments and thoughts were actually based on RU rather than RL
- in many ways a lead commentator is only as good as his co commentating expert and Monty ( good guy) is really just a warriors cheer leader . I find Willie Poching to be better than Monty
- Ken and Monty just did not seem to gel and their commentary was weak .If you think back to the likes of Ray Warren and Sterlo, Vossy and Brandy , Ray French and Alex Murray they formed a genuine relationship that a viewer could see , feel and enjoy …. Not the case last night
Im not disputing the man's mana, but that doesn't make him a good commentator.

Happens every game at Mt smart. The row of members sitting beside me always give it to those who leave early 😂

Yeah it was very good last night most were behaved where we were sitting just a beautiful whanau atmosphere.
I have been to many wellington games the memorable one was us scoring that amazing try at the halftime siren with Johnson Hurrel and Fishiahi vs Tigers but last night's atmosphere was unparalleled it even rivalled the Abs as you're stringing up conversations with your neighbors you've just met talking footy and shaking hands etc.
Union doesn't get that these days.

And on the commentary, it's sky sports that need to uppercut. They should be looking for the commentary talent, it just seems they think anyone with knowledge of a sport can commentate, it's far more nuance than that.
Give SJ a full time gig for our home games sky sport… Not sure if that would work as he makes the occasional appearance on fox leauge though
