Team List Redcliffe Dolphins v NZ Warriors - [Round 8, 2026]

Hope there isn't a late change to bring Pompey in- NSW cup team lists can change on a dime. He was given an absolute bath by Herbie last time at MSS. Lucky for him, he broke down after 10 minutes with a season ending injury. A rejuvenation of that match up gives me chills so I hope Webby isn't going down that route.

It's quite fascinating that most of the Phins tries go down Averillo's edge. Seems like Herbie is more of a solo act rather than being part of the phins main attacking shape. So RTS/AKP have a big job on their hands.

Interesting bit of gossip from Billy Slater's podcast: Trey Fuller has been training in the centers. So they might have a late switch with Averllo into 6 and Fuller into the centers.

Herbie is a crazy ‘individual’ talent. Dosent really make the players around him better but can win you the game

That Phins team on paper looks really good

They should be toasted with all the travelling and playing OT in Darwin last week so expect us to get the W but these are the 🍌 that ends up with pie on our faces
There's also the Penrith factor: teams playing Penrith, win or lose, have lost the next week. Dogs had a shocker last weekend and Melbourne arguably still haven't recovered. The only outlier is the chooks who had the DCE return to Manly the week after to pump them up.

Yeah that’s a good point

We’re also at home, there are worse places than Wellington ie Napier(!).

Absolutely no reason why we shouldn’t walk away with the W. and bank those 2 points

I think we have the clear edge in the forwards. We play with >=90% completion rate again, I think our physicality will be too much for them to handle. It could end up being like the chooks game where it is close until the last quarter but ultimately they fall away at the end due to the travel and ET. Also Nikorima being out is big for them. He is central to everything they do on attack and they did become a little clunky when he got injured last year.

Their backline is all Ferrari's

Pretty amazing assortment of talent really.
Jayden Campbell gave me the impression on the weekend he just didn’t want to be there. He looked cold and didn’t have his normal impact at all. Kini was the heart and soul or I think we could have gone to town but his jumping up pumped up after a couple of carries that saw him smashed pumped them up a bit I reckon. Farnsworth will be used to it but some of the other guys might be a bit like Campbell

I think we might have a bye after our game against them (panthers)?
