Pick Your Team Redcliffe Dolphins v NZ Warriors - [Round 8, 2026]

Competition is great but certainty and building combinations is better. Feel we have to many spots undecided:

Tuaupiki vs CNK
Pompey vs AKP
Boyd vs Metcalf
Laban vs Niukore
Dunno mate....should they be undecided?

After CNKs game(especially after his previous game at centre) that should give TT a run for a while.

AKP must stay in the team and you aren't dropping the centres and certainly not Dallin.

Boyd has the wins on the board. Foolish to mess with that.

Laban over Niukore is an easy choice for me. One is a young up and comer who is one of the potential future cornerstones of our team and the other is a declining mercenary who never lived up to his big contract and is leaving end of year.

Pompey is available but I hope we stick with the RTS/AKP combo. As others have said, we finally have attacking threat on both edges with this line up. Indifferent about Taine vs CNK. CNK has better ball distributing skills and is a bigger body but TT is more elusive and offers more of a run threat. Those hating on Healey should have some perspective- he is still young and needs to work on his distribution. But that will only get better with more first grade exposure. He complements Wayde well imo.

At yesterdays game TMM mentioned his rehab was well and that he is a couple of weeks early.

Team wise
  1. TT
  2. DWZ
  3. Leiatua (want to see him against herbie and be a good true test defensively)
  4. Rog (back to back games running over 100m)
  5. AKP
  6. CHT
  7. Boyd
  8. Fish
  9. Egan
  10. Ford
  11. Leka
  12. Capewah
  13. Clark
  14. Healey
  15. Barnett
  16. Demetric
  17. Laban
  18. Charnze/Pompey
  19. Niukore
Have to keep AKP on the wing, his change of direction is good and will get better

At the end of the day CNK is the incumbent, and the one game he played at fullback prior to yesterday was the round one win against the Roosters where he was solid. The points largely came from Ali getting a bath.

Taine has been ok, but not amazing. CNK was solid in the first half, then had a melt for vast majority of the second half after that drop ball.

Happy to admit I said I wouldn't mind seeing CNK back for his bigger body and D. But he was nowhere to be seen in any of those Titans trys yesterday, so whats the upside besides carting the ball back.

I assume Webby may want a bigger body at fullback if hes going to try accomodate AKP into the squad full time.

Its been a revolving door in the backline to start the season for various reasons. So hard to gauge what Webby sees as his top 1-5. Guess we should be thankful for the depth we have.
