Kick 50m they run back at 30m and make you do 10m+ shuttle runs for 5 more tackles to pull the trigger at tackle 4-5 when you're fatigued. Like a 7 tackle set.

Vs drop out with 50/50 chance of winning the ball back, and at worst avoid 10m+ shuttle runs and stop opposition from gaining momentum

Short drop outs are the way to go unless you have few seconds left like the Pompey Raiders brain fart lol

Something else I noticed more on Sunday and I think it has been mentioned before on here is that Berry, Capewah and Clarke are very good at the kick chase (Del is ok as is RTS).

They may not make a complete tackle but are doing enough in slowing the ball carrier up to allow the cavalry to arrive. This makes a huge difference and may not reflect fairly in the tackle count.
Exactly Rick. That's why I don't have much faith in stats. Same as hit ups off your own line are worth more than in the opposition 20.
Just my opinion

Bloke in a bar nominating CNK as their hungriest player. Pretty amazing that CNK made as many post contact meters (100) as Latrell made total meters (104) in that game.

I've been thinking about that brilliant Trell pass to AJ and how you could stop the try, it's almost impossible to defend once it's out past our centre. Kempy makes a good point, ironically if Dal had fucked up his positioning and jammed in he might have been able to shut it down or intercept.

Thats why I'm so harsh on Dal. TT and Kosi seem to have the jamming defence down better than DWZ

The first of the second half tries AJ scored off a Trell pass was OK.
The second one when we let the kick bounce left the hands on an obvious forward trajectory and continued.
Seems the referee was tricked by Trell continuing to run forward and stay ahead of the ball.
As was mentioned on another post.
The touch judge can call a 50/50 small toe on the line from 30 metres away but not a clear forward pass when right in line.

Probably why Cape is Berry’s back up for the right hand kick chases and Ali was moved to the left, Barney was quick too and Marata not too shabby

Maybe that’s why Leka faded a bit before this game having to do all these chases for 80 minutes

I know I harp on about it a lot, but why the hell would you want to replace him with Ponga?

Our entire gameplan revolves around physically beating the shit out of the opposition.

Ponga is never going to do that.

Ever.
Charnze to Centre, Ponga Fullback. easy. Not even a debate imo if he became available.
Charnze has been awesome this year for yardage carries and grunt work, but has only scored 1 try and has 2 try assists in 10 games, which is far too low for a pivotal position like fullback, not singling him out but could be a big reason we’re struggling for points this year, bar the weekend.
Metcalf needs help creativity wise.

Ponga is a top 3 fullback struggling for form right now because his team is shit, put him in our side and we can still physically beat the shit out of the opposition and have a real threat out the back who will unlock our outside backs as well.

it’s a debate cos at the moment CNK is awesome and Ponga is rubbish.

Tell me, what constitutes a good fullback - in your opinion.
