International Pacific Championship

Not crying foul here but should definitely have been called not square at marker on Katoa. Seems like in the dying stages of tight games that anything goes? Certainly is in nrl, just ask TMM who nearly had his head taken off against bulldogs for no penalty. Thought the ref was an interesting appointment too. Last week we have Klein because it’s against Aussie. Yesterday we have Smith who isn’t regarded as a top ref in any circles
Wyatt Raymond was also in the bunker. Another referee who got dropped for messing up in one of our games this season. If that happened to the Aussies, there would be a public outcry and crackdown on offside markers, but unfortunately where used to copping that sort of incompetence every week.

As one commenter mentioned, it would have been a dud way for the game to finish though…

Who reffed the England/Samoa game this morning?

All these injuries and bullshit Nas suspension, Plus Australia always getting a warm up game in before we play them. The Cronulla boys all being pulled because of Injury? But Nikora & Mulitalo were playing Touch just a week ago?! Why didn't Stacey pull a Mal Meninga and threaten the Sharks to make them available or ELSE! 🤣

I may be a little sensitive right now. And not taking away from Tonga's awesome win! But after we smashed the roos last year it was inevitable that they would do all they can to put us in our place.
Yeah, these are my sentiments too -

On the game itself, well you can't take away that Tonga just smashed us to bits in the first 10, then 15, then 25 minutes... and the edge of Sorenson and Timoko didn't stand up ... and that's it really, we were one half of one more descent back away from winning it in the come back ... that's a good effort against a 24 point start ... and I don't think you can tell too much about Stacey from this game or series

We may need to have a seperate home venue for games against Tonga, as Auckland is proving to be more of a home game for Tonga, with Tongan fans absolutely monstering us in every game I have watched at Mt Smart, kudos to the Tongan community BTW as they do create an incredible atmosphere.
However, surely the most important element for the Kiwis is the win, and playing at home is suppose to be an advantage, maybe Christchurch in the cold is where we play some games.

Is there a lot of Tongans in Western Sydney that will go to Parramatta stadium next Sunday?
There’ll be some but don’t think it’ll be near the level of Mt Smart. Largest PI group by far is Fijians then Samoans. Mainly middle eastern around Parramatta and then you get into large Indian populations norwest/hills area before more Polynesians mt druit way

Called it at the time...... it was fairly obvious and i thought thats what the bunker was going back to check (which he could have)....didnt seem to want to look any further than the charge down itself tho.

Its just weak officiating really, not wanting to make a call when the games on the wire, and it seems to have been prevalent this season......that said Isaako had the best chance of all straight after that with no pressure on and straight in front.

Tonga still probably deserved winners tho, they dominated that middle and we just made far too many errors and missed too many tackles.
