International Pacific Championship

Agree with most of this, but I do think Fish and Tapine were a bit off in the first half, AFB and Taumalolo were on top of them in the middle.
They were great in the first half. Taumalolo wound the clock back. He looked cooked playing for the Cowboys.

AFB did what he always does. As good as it is to land a great replacement in JFH I'm going to miss having him in the Warriors.

The Kiwis middles probably had the better second stint compared to the Tongans.

Why on earth did we never really go to the air for Warbrick? He is an elite athlete going against a midget in Sione Katoa. Tactically inept.

To make matters worse, their fullback was defending on the wing at the end because his calf was stuffed. Did we run at him? Nope.

I had sideline seats and Willy looked furious at the lack of ball he was getting.

Are we saying Shaun lost us the game?

Or he could have won it?

EIther way it was a pitiful display really.
Nah, good on him for answering the call. The result isnt on him. I just think that we are seeing a Continuation of this season with him.. it's also one thing to get up for three games with lower expectations than 20+ NRL games and preseason training.. his time has come and it's time to move on.

Is Kini a defensive liability? Yeah. But if our middles are doing their job. That’s not as much of a problem as it was tonight.
Offensively, he is dangerous. That speed is a real asset.

Whyte has been exceptional, and I dare say a big reason the Roosters are letting May go.

Stacey needs to look at his selections.

Forwards need a look in the mirror, but were on top in the second half.

How did Issako miss that. Why did he even take it. There was loads of time and a new set.

Man how the hell is Niukore one of the highest paid 2ndrowers in the comp?

The 2 unforced errors he made tonight were such momentum killers and an indictment of his season really.

Surely his next contract renewal is a sizeable downgrade?

Because that contract was signed 3 years ago if you can believe that, and still 2 years to go.

His downgrade will be equal to the upgrades of Halasima, Laban, Demetric et al.

Either way it was a great bit of business for him and he can still provide value but certainly not a stretch to say he is overpaid.

Is it just that we’re chasing a victory in such similar circumstances that of which the Warriors have had in the last couple of seasons or is this another game that looked very Warriors?

I don't think this game looked very Warriors at all, (at least of 2024), we dominated nothing! (visually)

Someone will fire stats off, but to me we were on a hiding to nothing from the get go, something was off from the start.

Was on the side where lehi swapped with Katoa. Lehi was absolutely gone physically. He could barely run. I was suprised we didn’t target him down that left side. Massively wasted opportunity imo. Poor team selections and tactics. Stacey looks like a backwards step. Nzrl always shit the bed after abit of success. Can never maintain consistency. Tongan crowd was awesome and really enjoyed the atmosphere which was nice break from the warriors one. I hope Tonga go all the way. Would be like winning a mini World Cup for them which would bode well for next years pac champs.
