I think if Berry comes in it will be right centre. Definitely his preferred side and suits his strong kick chase. Ali has played well at left centre in the past.

Sometimes on commentary the commentators seem to think scoring is easy. Cronk tonight said we need to keep the scoreboard ticking over.

Sure, the way the game has been this year in most games that may be possible.

When you get the top sides or you get to the finals teams will defend their line. It also adds more to the match when teams aren't scoring so easily.

Linnane isn't a center to me though. He's playing there right now but he's a spine player. Defending well but i think teams in first grade would expose his lack of size out wide.

Are you sure Berry was injured? I thought minutes restriction and to get Lemana in the game? But i may have missed it.

Reading the coverage on the forum someone mentioned he was wounded some time, but yes could be minutes restrictions, the issue is I don’t have faith he can stay on the field for more than 2 games in a row

Another pt: we should also keep in mind that due to the NRl scheduling, we've been camped in Aussie for the last 4 weeks. To have come away with 3 convincing wins and 1 respectable loss against the riff is a really good shout by the boys. We are back in NZ now for the next 3 weeks (bye included). Rest up lads and we'll be back on the horse to continue what we have built this year.

Depends on who’s mainly doing the kicking, CHT is left boot and most long kicks tonight went to the guy who slipped? 😂 Even TMM is kicking it to him. Most right kicks were attacking bombs. I’d just play whoever on the left and keep ali/dallin

Not sure Berry is the answer at centre for those who dislike Pompey's lack of agility, speed and slow play the balls. I watched Berry today in Cup and he looks bulky and slow. Lemana looked like a fucken weapon in comparison when he replaced him - although that was later in the game. But the difference in pace and general threat was a stark contrast.

I wouldn't mind seeing what Linnane can do at centre if he's persisted with in cup and stays fit. Our centre depth cannot purely be Ali, Pompey and Berry - there isn't enough threat with ball in hand there.

Ditto Pompey. Time to let that mediocre ship sail.

Great depth to have but he's not better than Berry.

Revisit him next year and maybe contract year Pompey might show up as is tradition.

Carrying an outside on the extended bench lessens the risk with Berry these days.
I agree 100%. I think Pompey is a fantastic 1st choice backup centre, but not first grade. The only possible reason to keep in him cup next year is his goal kicking.

If Berry was Roger, I’d agree. But the risk isn’t worth the reward.

Yeah i dont think he was injured from what i saw. But someone with more info may be able to confirm otherwise.

Yeah Lemana looks further along than I thought.

Makes great reads defensively for a 17 year old.

Not at the same raw talent level as Bishop but definitely more well-rounded, like he could probably pass as a first grader right now and do a job without setting the world on fire.

Pompey ran 177m? 😂😱 At least the RTS yardage is there

Marata 40m off 6

Kicking we had 697m 4m less than them and they had 2 more kicks, CHT 13 kicks 377m TMM 9 at around 310m, thought we could do with another 5-10m for the punts

They need to do something to replace the RTS corner tackles. Was Webby pissed AKP came in or Pomps too slow?

Taine is my MOTM. CNK is back after the bye but I don't think there is any debate now that TT is our best FB. Yes he gets rag dolled at times like all small FBs like Faalogo, Kini, etc. But he is exactly the sort of person I want sniffing around a fatiguing ruck. He was stressing the Penrith middle all game. For all the talk about us lacking an x-factor, Taine is slowly turning into a game breaker for us. He won us that game v the phins and had a number of amazing moments in attack for us tonight. I will be distraught if I see CNK at FB for our next TLT in 2 weeks.

The game was basically down to his last pass unfortunately not quite there, shows how important he is now, wonder if Pompey could have passed to akp earlier in the set. If TMM stays fit and get some boyd structure into it…

One thing that frustrated me was all those offloads from Penrith

They were doing hot potato like Broncos did to us in 2023 finals and we never looked to return service. Maybe fatigue but the mindset to copy that was never there by the forwards or backs (Ali & Pompey in particular)

Once Webby unlocks this level it’s game over for the league

We have the players to do it once we get rid of Pompey and Ali is now borderline to me. We need centres with a pass first mentality not Solomone Kata hero ball

He''s not the finished product that's for sure. There's also the bombed DWZ try because he didn't pass in Melbourne. He also does need to work on his positional play: there was one try v Phins where Herbie chip kicked into a space that he should have been defending. But he has a really high ceiling imo. For all the talk of Jacko, Erin and our young forwards, TT is starting to have a breakout year imo.
