No idea really. Perhaps it's just getting him time on the paddock as in "reps" as Webbo saysSurely Metcalf doesn't need practice at 7? Right?
I think so too. It must have been a mongrel of an injury. Mind you a neck injury is pretty full onMaybe he's been told TT is the man and now he's just focusing on rehab instead rushing back
Warriors got a lot of love again on NRL360 tonight.
Taking the cold blooded approach to every game is the wayIt's interesting. I think alot of us missed why the Dargs game was important.
In years past, we've gotten to a point in the year where we're called 'the real deal', only to immediately fall over and shit ourselves.
This was that game for us.
Shithole stadium (allegedly).
Crap weather.
Tough crowd.
Backing up from a high energy win.
Versing a desperate team that we should be clear favourites over.
Only, the boys didn't take the game for granted. They pummeled them.
This is a good team, boys. Professional and powerful.
This could very well be, the real deal.

yeah, think this likely too ... anyone can come into the cup side even if not named, they'll put Berry in at centre if he's ready, maybe move linnane back to 6 as they did last week and then work out what to do with the named players in ist grade once there's a steer from origin back ups on teh panthers sideMetcalf will likely play in 7 this week. I can see TMM dropping to bench covering a raft of backline positions while in Cup Rocco isn’t named yet. Likely means Hanson will drop off and go to 6 in Cup and Rocco into Centre.

That is my feeling too. One game in Cup. Train with the first grade side at 7 in the Bye and back at halfback after thatIt'd be a strange move to name Metcalf in NSW Cup if the plan is to play him in first grade. It'd be even stranger given we've been told he didn't have enough reps to even be on the bench for the Dragons game but is now fit enough to start against the comp favourites...
I think he'll play in NSW Cup, especially with the bye coming up.
I like that Webby's keeping Kurt and Mitch out of the team (the news about Roger probably spooked the crap out of him!), give the younger boys a bit more responsibility. It will be interesting to see if Webby maintains the ethos of not backing players up. We have had precious little of Barnett, and are going to lose him next season. It would be pretty shit to lose him for 6 games because of Origin (less I know, but I can't be bothered looking at where our byes line up).
I know there is no real alternative option, but I really resent the Origin interruption during the season. Still, I'm happy to see so many of our players being considered.

Absolutely Im sticking with the CHT/TMM combo for now...
Pompey or Taine doing the points kicking.
As to Origin: There was the post-season Origin in 2020, which actually I kind of liked and to my maybe pedantic mind makes the most sense: The best eligible players from Competition A (The NRL), once that Competition's done, play in Competition B (State Of Origin), which is the higher standard. But it got never got any great traction fan-wise, so I don't think that will happen again.
I agree, the current system isn't great but the Wednesdays have the huge advantage of being clear air viewership-wise and it's tradition, as anything that you start and just leave alone if it's good enough (largely if not completely (ie the Sunday 2nd game and playing a game outside NSW/Queensland) tends to become and I'm not sure anyone, even S of O's biggest fans, would like a 3 Week stoppage of the NRL so there could be 3 consecutive SoO Games on Wednesdays. Too many problems with that idea...
We won't have to if our trick shot is to bludgeon them into surrender. My only worry isDon’t need to give them a look at our best team until the knock outs and they probably will hold back too, annoying we might play them 3x this year, save the trick shots for later
