Pick Your Team NZ Warriors v Cronulla Sharks - [Round 5, 2026]

Ye cos our backline was so solid last night ay. Getting torn up by Adam Douehi.
Douehi’s never ran track like that before.
Our backline is too old and slow, simple as that
Not when we get it right as a team.

One false move and you lose in this sport. Dropping our bundle exposes our team more than individuals but I concede that individuals had shockers.

75 percent win rate is kinda how Razor got sacked as all blacks coach but for us it's almost statue worthy.

So the coach that is running the best sequence of NRL seasons that the fans have seen is still learning.

Learning what? how to get better at doing what we who have no Coaching experience at that level think he should be doing.....

Sorry, do people really think that Andrew Webster would do a better job if he listened to any of us?

Any of you planning on emailing him and giving him some coaching?

Sorry to be that guy but come on, it is one game.
Exactly.....I question why Barnett, one of the best middle forwards in the game would play on edge at all, but what the fuck do I know?

What we do know is Webby is taking this team in the right direction, so for all our complaints, we definitely don't know best.

Is Taine the first choice full back now.
CNK given a chance to stake a claim as a centre yesterday.
Jye Linnane is the answer at fullback I reckon
As for CNk scoring a double from 5 metres out doesn’t make u a good centre.

Brandon Norris needs to be in cup so we can chuck him in first grade. Seems like we’re the only club who isn’t keen on young backs

Union of course has literally ten times the registered adult male players, but the schools is where Union holds almost absolute power making comparisons with League problematic.

One of the things that has been hardest to educate NZ fans on is that they have been spoiled with their expectations in Union when you really only need drive to an average City League club ground to compare the stark realities of the sports.

The fact that the Warriors can be competitive in an Australian pro comp is really remarkable when you stack up the relative disadvantages here.

Well, we hope he recovers and plays.

Given you pick the NSW cup backline every week, I take it you think they could beat an NRL side if we chucked them all in the NRL together.

That would make them the greatest NSW cup backline in the history of that comp I would wager.

Was he the guy who said half the Dolphin NSW Cup backline would walk in as starters for our top team?

Ye id pick the 2 cup wingers over our current 40 year old wingers who can’t break a tackle to save their life atm.

I wasn’t sold on Mellars or AKP but theyre playing some good footy and I like their aggression. And I’m still holding out hope for Sio Kali lol

We are the Sharks bogey team, Let's be the biggest bogey we can be! 🤣

What a ridiculous notion, Linnane has only played at Flegg level at the highest, he is still eligible to play there too.
He is not the answer at Fullback for a long time and I doubt he's a blip on Webbys radar to play there.

I didn’t say now
U clearly haven’t seen him play if u think it’s a ridiculous suggestion. Kids a weapon and has more to his game than running metres.

You also didn't specify when so?
I have seen him play, against other kids. Lets see how he goes against full grown adults before making any notions like this. He may very well be the answer in 2027 or 2028 if he blows everyone off the park at Cup level. The fact he has pretty much played 6 his whole junior career also lends me to doubting his credentials at Fullback.

100% agree....even the worst coaches know more about the game than all of us put together.

However it doesnt mean coaches cant make mistakes, errors, misjudgements.....happens to the best of them. Daniel Anderson in 2004 bulking up an already physically huge team in favour of cardio was a massive mistake and pointed out by many punters at the time.

Even the dud coaches Nathan Brown etc know the game better than us but the weaknesses in their coaching philosiphies can stand out like dog balls at times....

.....and thats what i thought these forums we're for....punters can post their own "Opinions" where and how their team is going good, bad, or otherwise.....if u dont agree with that opinion (and im not meaning u in particular) argue, debate, counter....i love that sort of thing about this forum, it can and often gives u a different perspective on things.....rather than just taking the "well the coach said it was so it must be" line.

Even the dude who wants to replace the first graders with the entire NSW cup line up.....lol it cracks me up and even tho we would be getting done by 100 every week.....have your say bro.....but own your opinion and be prepared to take flak for it.

One thing regarding the Tigers game i have a big question mark over and i havent seen much mention of.....since when did Stowers Smith leap frog Demetric?
Dont get me wrong i like Stowers Smith and thought he was pretty decent but for me Vaimauga just offers more prescence, physicallity and energy when he comes on which i thought we were lacking.....strange call by Webby there i thought....id be interested in his reasoning.

Gotta add for those that want Leiataua rushed back in, saw enough in that NSW cup game that despite scoring a try and is a strong runner ball in hand.....he is still lazy asf off the ball. The first try they scored simply no urgency and burned on the outside....constantly backing off when they spread the ball his way.....showed zero urgency on that long Mellars break despite being the closest to him to get into a support position...lazy fucker didnt even get out of 2nd gear....has his up sides but c'mon dude, going a hundy when youve only got the ball in your hand is soo old school warriors.....get with the program.
