My two cents in case you wanted a view point is that it depends on your ranking goals

1) If doing well in ranks then stick with Faalogo
2) If needing to take a chance then I think Makasini has the most chance of scoring two tries out of those three. Fale has been brought in as a high base scoring yardage beast who is not offensively as strong as the other two. Purely in the team for yardage, He is 190cms and 100kgs.
Appreciate your input bro.
I think i will bring in Maka as my cash league H2H has him at centre, just in case he goes off.

I'm contemplating either Faalogo 41 or Makasini or Fale
With Makasini playing centre you’re not going to get huge base stats. So you’re relying on some attacking stats to get him into the 40s and above.
Tigers score 38% of their tries on their left which is where he is. Eels concede 32%of their tries down their right. Maybe a decent match up.
Fale will be all base. Dragons average about ~15 points per game but 5/11 tries have come on the right where Fale will be. Cowboys also concede almost 50% of their tries down the left hand defence.
Personally of the 3 I’d stick with Faalogo and his 41. The Dragons attack is too weak to bet on Fale getting any attacking stats to go with his base, and even the best base WFB can struggle to hit 40 without attacking stats.
Makasini is a crap shoot, centre is an awful position minus Herbie, depending on the day they can go between 15-60.

I bet on Fale to score 30+ as I looped him in over kiraz's 35. Your analysis is good.

This is the best analysis I have read in a long time.

What do you make of my question of whether to start Makasini or Joash?

Makasini is safer as everyone has him but Joash is the one you choose of you want to risk it because you want to catch up.

Outstanding analysis thank you

This one’s a bit more difficult for me to judge. Fullback is reliant on attacking stats to get those 50+ scores bar probably Tedesco. So using Parramatta; before injury Iongi was averaging about 24 touches in attack per game. He had 1 try assist and 2 tries. They are averaging 24 PPG which is healthy enough but in comparison teams who have scored similar amounts of points, their fullbacks have a much higher attacking touch count. Drinkwater for example has 175 attacking touches (~44 per game) for 1 try and 6 try assists.
Jahreem Bula averages 31 attacking touches per game for 3 try assists and 1 try.
So for teams who have scored a similar amount of points it tells me that Parramatta don’t give their fullback as many touches in attack which in turn leads to less attacking stats.
All that said, Makasini at centre is all base this year. If Papalii can get any kind of attacking stats this week I’d expect him to score higher than Makasini. Even with the Tigers averaging over 30ppg so far, Makasini doesn’t reap the attacking stats.
Parra leak 40 ppg and Tigers 17. So it should be a flood of points for the Tigers on Monday.

Of course this is all eye test and armchair stats, Makasini probably comes out this week and scores a 70 just because.

Incredible analysis Barzak you need your own podcast - I would listen to you ahead of the casual athlete.

Barzak my builds upon your great post are
1) If you thought Iongi got few touches at fullback prepare for Joash to get even less as he is just the hold the fort guy until Joash is back. I know not quite as simple as that but some truth to it. The eels is Mitchel Moses team he is the truth and the light and the one way to the promised land to use a religious tone given it is Easter.
2) Joash despite his limited touches will have a higher floor than Makasini just because of their respective positions. So because I would rather guard against the worst case scenario than gamble on the best case I am going Jaash. However as you note if there is ever a game Makasini will score 50 points then this is has to be one of those prime opportunities for him.

Purely player vs player agreed on both. Obviously the variables become, how good are the Tigers, how good are the Eels and what is the difficulty of the next 5 or so weeks draw for both.

Sorry man just checked this. I always take 30+ for outside backs. Their floors are just so much lower, especially for a rookie back

My footy stats shows be for round 5 not round 6. Happened last round too. Anytime else experience the same?
