The scoreline really doesn't underscore how dominant we were. 7 tries to 3 but only 32-18. If Tanwah was kicking, it would have been closer to 40-18. Men vs boys out there.

One downside with cup side is that they do tend to switch off a little bit after HT in most of these games. Sometimes I feel like cup is just too easy for some of our boys. Guys like Fatialofa are clearly in this pickle where they are not quite ready for first grade but way too good for cup. So I do sense a bit of complacency building in a little bit. But maybe I am reading too much into it.

Anyway awesome to break the record.

He is not very good.

Understandably.

Great win. Especially with twelve men at the end and one injured briefly.

Agree Going was our best and I was very happy about that because I think he is pretty vanilla normally, hope this is the start of him kicking on.
I think you are a bit harsh on Jett. It's like his 3rd game in cup. Give him time to develop into a good half like his brother.

As for Going, he gives me TSS vibes. His lack of size worries me but can see what he provides on defence.

That is an impressive winning record.

Tafua had a good stint. Was around 4 minutes to go when I saw him walking down the side line.

Ale did some good work. Not sure if he's still carrying an ankle injury. Saw one player when the Bears scored early in the second half getting checked out. I couldn't make out who it was could have been Fukofuka.

Cleary did look like he was doing alright organising the side. It is probably best to be reserved on him as his name means you can pump him up more than what is reflected on the field. He's still developing. A lot of the others have played quite a lot in this grade and are closer to first grade.

On attack he was often swinging around the ruck to create extra numbers on the right but the ball went the other way. He was frustrated and Tafua was probably wondering where my half back went.

Crosby. No worry on that boy not having his diet on point. Barely any fat on him.

Might have been where I was sitting and the chatter behind me. Or the size of the crowd being a bit larger than in the past. At past games it has been good to hear the talk on the field. Something Warriors teams in the past have been criticised for but they have been pretty good in that aspect. It was hard to make out today.

Was Going playing a bit on the edge, and Ale at lock? At times I felt like Going was playing a little wider than he usually does, which gives him a bit more space (seems a hard man to tackle).
His best season was 2023 & was used almost exclusively on the edge. Only 1 game in Reserve grade at Lock before switching to Union, where he played Centre. I think he only began to play Lock regularly last season for Laban & Halasima's benefit

I have no idea whether he can be anything like his brother, but he is vastly overrated at the moment, and that was before he came into cup.

I am happy to wait and see, just calling it how it is right now. He is crap.

He is slow, flat footed, doesn't have good instincts, poor position, kills the play.

Who knows, maybe he will grow into it.

Congratulations on the record. Thoroughly deserved. 36 individuals used so far too so plenty of disruptions to contend with.
One gripe, the media coverage has improved but why bother wasting time to write something like this the day prior to kickoff when internally they know most of the players mentioned won't even be in the country?
