Keen to see how we go against sharks before even considering them

Yeah, there has been a lot of looking ahead this season without keeping an eye on the road in front (Tigers classic example of that folly).

Having said that, I expect that we will aim up Vs the Storm, hopefully we don't see the usual thorough screwing by the officials and the usual horror night with injuries.

Putting the Sharks away will give us a good much needed reset.

Re Penrith

The Crusaders had their 3-peat in 1998-2000, in 2001 they crashed out and failed to qualify for the playoffs, the following year they won the comp without losing a single game I think we are seeing that with Penrith

Last time an NRL team went through undefeated was in 1937 when the season was only like 10 games. Super Rugby is far less competitive than NRL and considerably shorter. Not saying it will never happen, just pointing out that there is a reason why no club has gone through an NRL season undefeated, even Penrith during their 4-peat reign. Arguably some of the premiership teams they had during the 4peat are much stronger than the current Penrith roster and they still couldn't manage an undefeated season.

Moreover, I think its the case that many teams are still figuring themselves out and are warming into the season, so the gap between Penrith and the rest (including us) is probably a bit inflated atm. They are still odds-on favourites to win the title, but there's no chance imo they go through undefeated. They will slip up just like the rest of us at some pt. I just hope we are the ones to deliver that blip to them.

god they're awful - very badly drilled, as it's not like they don't have some talent and strength there - shape all out of whack, not in rhythm between ruck and backs, gutherson looking geriatric

Unlikely as he is signed until 2028. Would cost them too much. Although with what they Dragons are doing he should be.
