Late to the thread.
Haven’t read a thing.
Manly and Dolphins game is a good spectacle. Lots of good ball movement and second phase.
I’d like to see us play this way.

neither side is in the top 8 though. Whereas we are in pole position to finish in the top 4. There's a reason for that.

We are clinging to the side of an upturned life boat in shark infested waters with a storm approaching. We need a rescue boat to suddenly appear which for us has to be more creative football, ball movement, early spreads and second phase.

Partly up due to DCE's 350. Also the Dolphins are pretty hot and cold. Have had some big hidings the last few weeks.

Flashy sides like cows, phins, manly, etc are all outside the 8 for a reason. Like yawnion, what goes on in the midfield still drives results in league. You need to grind out your opposition and win the middle. All these sides may be attractive to watch but they generally crack under sustained physical pressure. I'd rather be a consistent top 4 team from here on out playing "boring" footy than being a FIFO exciting team that always misses the 8. We had enough of that during the pre-Webby era.

Manly are flat track bullies. If they win the middle, they can put 50 on a team but they hardly ever have this year. Phins just didn't show up physically. We have their measure if we turn up with the right physical attitude like we did in rd 2 when we were all expecting a hiding after the Vegas debacle.
