NRL Round Discussion NRL Round 10, 2025 Discussion

Points Differential is usually pretty reflective of final placings come the end of the year. It is crazy that The Warriors and the Panthers have pretty much the same PD and one is 2nd and the other is 16th!
Not to negate your point but just to negate it slightly. It is only generally reflective and their can be outliers.
One year around 2019 or so our good friend Bruce became obsessive about the point you have posted. And was confidently discounting some top 8 teams and said they would fall out and that we were going to make it as we had a better PD and none of it played out. We missed the 8 by memory while having a reasonable PD and Knights or someone snuck in with a negative or very low positive number.

Just a reminder Wrighty our old mate Bruce played when they didn't keep stats and players wore lace up jerseys and the ball was a pigs bladder stuffed with straw.
😉 😜

Sharks are a weird team. Always in the top 8 but perennially seeming to be missing a jigsaw puzzle piece and I have no idea what it is now they have AFB
I stand by this. The last ten minutes of Manly vs Sharks tied at 14 all turned into who would blink first and Manly showed they have some liability players on the field. Especially their young winger Hopoate. He was dreadful and Sharks got home in a game Manly should have won.

This will be a big call but I think where Sharks are missing is their half back Nicho - he is not getting them around the field or taking good offensive options. He is resting on his big reputation and thinking his reputation will score tries for his team rather than him doing anything proactive at any point in the whole match. The problem is he is still "decent" and finding someone better would mean finding an elite half back and those are as rare as hen's teeth.

Edit - Just to further this point 5 minutes later, Both Mitch Moses and Nathan Cleary appear in interviews to be more humble and unassuming than Nicho. Nico by contrast is very accepting of his stardom and how good he is.
