NRL NRL Injury Ward

Promising St George Illawarra forward Loko Pasifiki Tonga has been taken to Wollongong hospital for precautionary scans on a neck injury suffered at training.

It is understood the 20-year-old prop was running the football during a session on Thursday.

There was nothing out of the ordinary in the tackle, however Loko remained on the ground after contact.

He indicated a potential neck issue.

The Dragons took the precautionary measures and called an ambulance, which arrived and transported him to hospital.

He will undergo further scans.

After making his NRL debut last year, Tonga is yet to play first grade in 2026.

More to come...
Scans have cleared him from injury thankfully.

Rough few months for the storm

This was a death of an nrl hopeful the other day too, not from a game injury though. I’m surprised that more doesn’t get made of how hard these guys are getting pushed with the likes of Keith Titmuss dying in preseason a few years back and Katoa’s head knock caught on camera and the player still plays.
