Random observation, but why do journalists give try scoring stats when reporting on signings? "Sharks have signed Addin Fonua-Blake; Fonua-Blake has scored 17 trys across 200 games" or whatever. Makes no sense to me.

It's the written version of the Milestone Video Montages the Warriors would show when Simon Mannering would reach a 50-game milestone. They'd show his tries, some of which were admittedly pretty good, but it was tackles we all loved him for. And most of those were mostly stock standard 2nd man, some good 1st man ones, too. But it doesn't make for a sexy MVM...
