I think that's a rort tbh. Letting him "walk away" just to turn up at another club.

Storm 2026 gameplan. Kick to the wings.
Apparently it’s to play centre to play inside Coates their forum reckons. Lomax seems to always want to play centre too, was part of why he left dragons initially. He plays better on the wing but that edge would be a ridiculous kick threat if it worked out

When I read above about Storm signing Lomax and Howarth to the Eels it would be related to the terms of Lomax's release.

This article has Lomax looking at legal action against the Eels. I know the reason (R360) for his release fell through. He still agreed to the terms and then went to look at Super Rugby but couldn't get a top up from Australian Rugby to get his deal similar to his Eels contract.

He did decide to leave one year into a four year deal. To me it is fair enough the Eels have some terms in his release. That should mainly be first right to re-sign him or something.

Likely there will be some player movement and it won't go to court.

Will he sign short term with the Storm and then move to R360 if it gets off the ground. Or a multi year contract and leave early from that as well?

Him and his manager massively messed up. Getting lawyers involved is embarrassing. Players seem to get what whatever they want regardless of contracts, Eels put their foot down for once and the player turns to lawyers.

I sort of feel for him, but the Eels shouldn't have to wear his f*ck up. I hope they get a good player swap out of it.

Seems dedicated, even left his car and possessions at mt smart for a few COVID years.
- though I digress, because he left the Warriors, appears he is person no grata on this forum.
No sure how that shows dedication. What was his alternative?
He gave it his all on the paddock but left a year early claiming homesickness after completing his first full year in Auckland

Not sure of alternatives, however he stayed with us over COVID when many Aussie and kiwi players didn't/couldn't.
To me that's dedication, or is that just professionalism?
Perhaps homesick, thought more mutual the club letting him go and had to say something, was facing court in Oz, new coach , new forwards coming through etc.

Seems a player that would go well under a motivational coach like Mel.

I'm interested to see where Curran plays for the Bears.

The Bulldogs didn't have him on an edge for very long. Tried him as a ball playing middle for a little while and also looked to be playing some front row.

He can hit a hole quite well if they get a decent ball player in the halves.

The main thing is maintaining his fitness. We saw the improvement when he was here when he was fit.
