Looks to have regressed a little from what I’ve seen of him this year.
Change might do him good.

Yeah I agree with that. Im always a bit bemused when a player makes a statement like that, and then you look at his stats and there's been a clear dip in his out put....

Not that I think we'll even look at him, but if he was willing to return here on a mid level contract and attempt to earn a starting jersey he'd be a great replacement for Niukore/Barnett in the years to come. The Webby/change of scenery could be a big game changer for him.

His best years should be ahead of him, and he's shown glimpses of being a top prop, I'm semi interested lol

Warriors and Webby are really loyal to/with who we have.
Sometimes you have to be a little ruthless to get the best team.
eg I see Sloan as a better future than what we have now. DWZ is way past the point of improving.
We are flush with young forwards. Time to look at the outside backs.

A good stat to look at would be a 'with and without' Berry for DWZ, see if there's a bit difference either way in the way he plays

So, I did a bit of a deep dive today and came up with some stats (plz move to different thread if appropriate).

DWZ's stats over the last three years.

With Berry:
24 games - 14 wins, 9 wins, 1 draw
58% winning record
25 tries scored
81 tries scored in the 24 games against the Warriors, 19 of those down Berry and DWZ's side - 22% of total tries

20 games with out Berry (2 not counted as DWZ started as fb)
9 wins, 9 losses
50% winning record
72 tries scored in the 18 games, with 21 down DWZ's side - 29% of total tries

Obvs a few caveats - impossible to consider games where there have been injuries and reshuffles in the backline, and I've only counted tries scored by opposing wing and centre, also peak 23 SJ was helping Dal get his numbers up too

For me it's pretty much hit the nail on the head. Rocco's not a star, but adds that extra 10% to Dallin's game when he's there. Dallin scores more tries and gets less scored against him when Rocco's centre. 10% in a game is pretty huge, could be the difference between a win and a loss, I hope these 2 make it back together for our run into the finals

Has Dallin played with Cape? Defensive stats would be interesting to compare

I'm not sure Neame has enough upside to be honest. He has played kiwis young, so will be wanting decent money. He's a big body, but no real attacking game except run it straight. Not really the Warriors style these days. No way I would want us paying too much for him, and he wouldn't be a starter here anyway. Most cows seem to end up at the Dolphins, hopefully he goes there to replace one of their aged guys.

Interesting, considering both Kodi and Katoa are going pretty great in the halves and creating loads of opportunities.

I don't think their spine of Hammer, Nikorima, Katoa and Marshall-King/Donoghue needs much improving...
There were some rumours early on that they were looking at DCE, so obviously keen on an experienced halve. There was talk at one stage too that Katoa was keen on a move back to Sydney? Hard to imagine they let him out of his lengthy contract though. Think with Nikorima there’s potential for him to play 14 which he has been effective in the past
