NRL NRL 2025 General Recruitment Thread

What is actually happening with Fafita between being dropped to Ipswich, and cut from SOO last year in favour of Piakura of all people. He is being black balled out of the NRL.

Obviously a shit attitude, even his mate Tino doesn’t sound impressed with him. Sounds like he’s using the injury because he thinks he’s too good for reserve grade? 9 runs for 58m last week in reserve grade

I think even though I know no details my leaning is to be on David's side having seen people be targeted in the work place before where yes they made a few mistakes but not worthy of their outcomes afforded to them.
He is too good for NSW cup I wouldn't risk getting injured if I were him either,

Yet look at someone like TMM. Putting in player of the game matches week in week out and showing he’s too good for that grade. Actions speak loudest

That's a good counter point. But there is a marked difference between TMM and Boyd and Fafita. That said my overall heckles are raised at this coming off the bat of his SOO omission last year. Was this just a case of Des sending him to reserves with no back drop to it then it would be like Fafita should quit sulking and earn his spot back the old fashioned way through hard work.
But as Shakespeare said in Hamlet something is rotten in the state of Denmark.
I have a hunch Fafita has been black balled by the illumanti of the NRL and names like Hasler and Slater are in the inner sanctum.

I guess we’ll have to just see it differently like you mentioned to another forum member in another thread, I think it’s more likely to do with Fifita rather than people in the nrl trying to black ball him

Sounds a bit farfetched Wrighty.
Fafita is a huge unit who can do things most others can't do on a footy field, but similarly to other elite talents has often had question marks around his work ethic and fitness.

As the highest paid forward in the game previously, and still sitting at over a mill a season I think the criticism is justified.

The last 2 years hes played 44 games, averaging 145m a game and 6 tackle breaks. He passed 100m 38 out of those 44 games (or 86% of his games). This year he's played 6 games and only passed 100m once.

Imo that comes down to effort. Daves only got himself to blame.

Two of those games he ran for 90 metres
And in the game over 100 metres (the game before his last)he ran for 203 metres.

However I accept your point that over a $1M they want elite out of him every week. Good point hadn't thought of that.

local GC paper says he has an ankle injury and has been getting needles.
Tino saying Dave and Des getting on very well.
 
It is in the news Fifita is being shopped to other clubs.
You have to honour his existing contract at $1M plus or can you low ball offer him?

On Brisbane news yesterday David apparently went to Hasler and asked to play left side, but hasler said no, if you want to play left side play for Ipswich,
So I don't know if it's a form thing or hasler has had a falling out with David
But today I hear he is will to switch clubs for far less then what he is on,
Just to play first grade.

That’s Hasler’s choice as coach though if he prefers Fermor on the left
