NRL NRL 2025 General Recruitment Thread

Yeah, that's exactly what it looks like. I know it's unlikely to happen but I'd love to see the tigers stick to their guns and be by the book managing Galvin for the next 18 months and refuse to release him. I know that causes issues in itself but what a powerful message to send to players and managers. The fans would be onside across the NRL for the most part I'm sure
The bullying avenue they’re pursuing won’t allow him to sit in nsw cup I don’t think. RLPA won’t let it happen, though it should. This might spark some changes around player managers? Would be interesting to know if Galvin genuinely doesn’t like being coached by Benji or if it was just an avenue to get a release? With it coming to light of a history between Benji and Moses, it gives the impression of someone trying to destroy his coaching career, or at least plant some seeds anyway after such a great start to the season for the tigers. But when you look at the players he’s taken out of the club in the past, is it a vendetta against the club?

Yeah Galvin wants out but I think Moses planted that seed about Benji.

By all the reports that I have seen the guy is a great young bloke and his parents are good people
What I don't understand is how the fuck did they allow him to get attached to Moses.
His CV has him deregistered by the NRL which in itself be a huge red flag

Depends on definition of good, good people find agents to blow up the club and the coach to maximize their salary and profit, they have their reasons, some people say they’re still good, big corps are greedy machines, some would say they’re nasty human beings showing their true colors

That’s right, players probably like their agents being ruthless to get what they want.
I probably would.

Why not? It's the coaches call who he plays and for what ever reason he wants. Simple answer if he is asked why Galvin isn't playing first grade is 'Galvin is a very good player with a big future but I feel we have a better fit at 7 with Douehi'

That’s fucken disgusting that he has this sort of power. Senior players have rallied behind Benji and they’ll be better for all this
In the long run if the club backs them and makes necessary changes so as not to be held to ransom by Moses again. If the tigers made that call then there will be three clubs at least that players managed by Moses can't play for and potentially miss opportunities. If there are just a couple more that makes things really interesting for players to make a decision about him as a manager.

To be honest, I'm surprised the NRL have reregistered him

Wasting your time trying to keep someone so unhappy there and that to be a drain on the club. Becomes a never ending story for journalists, but tigers are doing the right thing. Dig their heels to acquire a decent player. KPP from knights is the current player in their sights

They could put him as 18th man, or play him at 6 but let him get smashed till kingdom come especially if the season is gone, I think their senior Panthers are pretty ruthless too, I don’t know how the tigers can play nice de-escalate from the “investigation” and still look good afterwards

Depends what your goal is. Yes it could be seen as a waste of time and a bit painful but if they do it right with Galvin, the next player and manager who thinks about trying it will certainly reconsider

Certainly makes it interesting a player like Bula at the club and his future

I did hear that Galvin is really good mates with Matamua from one of the Journos.
Reckons Galvin didn’t like the way Matamua has been treated.
Wow this whole scenario is starting to get a lot bigger.
Would hate to be a Tigers fan, they put up with a bit.
I hope Richardson decides to take them on with these allegations. Sounds like Moses is influencing this kids to say things i bet he doesn't believe.

Well, Im not 100 percent sure about Galvin. The more this drama unfolds. It sounds like he'll say what needs to be said to get out of his contract. The Galvin Family , His friends that are at the club & now using Batemen & Matamua?
Didn't Matamua say Benji was one of his idols?

I haven't heard anything negative about Benji or the Tigers by Klemmer yet. Nor do I expect to. He seems a good honest man Klems.

Fuck Isaac Moses.

Especially if the players are as tight as they say. Might mean Bula changes manager next contract or doesn't buy in to Mose's shit

Can players sack agents? Imagine the coach guessing everyday if certain agents have been whispering to their players for their next power play. Choose a side and do a clean out, it’s a disease

Sounds like some of the senior players didn’t want to play with him was the catalyst for Benji’s decision, so I don’t think that’s going to change in a hurry. Looks like Turuva’s instagram post is going to be used as the alleged bullying too, so that’s a strained relationship at the club right there. Think it would be too toxic to keep him at the club

It was interesting last week after NRL 360 they had the fan show I think it's called and had an interview with Galvin from end of last year I think and he was saying he owed Benji for giving him his chance in first grade without even playing a game of cup first, credited him for his coaching and making his role easy etc very intriguing

Eels in balls deep with him now if they weren’t already with his relation already there. He’s gotten rid of his clauses too Mitchell Moses, so it’s well and truly built on the Moses name at the moment

Politis backed him and gave him a character reference to get him reinstated. First thing Moses does is take his boom rookie client Sua'ali'i and fucks him off to union for big money. Hence the Roosters cutting off ties. He took Folau to AFL and others out of the sport too, which makes the NRLs tolerance for him even more baffling.

Honestly, this guy has been winding me up for years. I'm sure the nrl has links to some pretty shady stuff behind the scenes.

Links to modern day organized crime and a shady past in the working class community. I'm sure I saw somewhere that the Moran family was involved back in the day.

From what I understand they can but still have to pay them for the years they were contracted for organised under that manager. No reason why they can't engage a new manager for their next contract or contract extension as far as I can tell
