NRL NRL 2025 General Recruitment Thread

Warriors are signing so many junior halves out of Australia. Says alot about the optimism of signing and established player to fill the position and a better chance to develop one and save some ca$h.
Says a lot about AW, Cappy and how the wider club is viewed also. Hats off to Mohawk for his investment and commitment to the club. How many years have we been an actual basket case of a club and now we have stability and genuine good people in place.

Seeing a lot coming back to the club from a time where pathways were decimated. Haami Loza is another example, pretty sure he was in the system as a 14 year old

Sounds like Josiah Pahulu to bulldogs for 2026 is a definite, but they trying to get him for 2025. Apparently Karl Oloapu to the dolphins is to free up a spot. Also sounds like Tom Starling is heading to rabbits from raiders, not sure whether it’s from 2025 or 2026 yet?

I see Isaac Matalavea Booth has been let go bulldogs. Big unit even bigger than NAS and from Manurewa. Do recall someone here that had watched or played with him saying they didn’t rate him though? Could be a good one to get under the guidance of David Tangata Toa and see if they think they can build a good player to utilise that size? Could be too that the speed of the game is passing players like this by? Still plenty of big units in other clubs pathways though

Veterans David Klemmer and Christian Welch head towards 2026 with unique situations. Klemmer needs to play as many as 14 games in 2025 to be guaranteed another year at the Tigers while Welch needs to play at least 18 games to enact a clause in his deal for 2026 in Melbourne. The alternative is for Welch to win a State of Origin recall, which would also secure him another season.

David Klemmer’s contract clause.

As for Klemmer, he said he was not worried by his game trigger.

Klemmer has played at least 18 games a year since his first full season in the top grade in 2014.

“(My mindset) would be different if I was at the beginning of my career,” Klemmer said. “Obviously I’m at the back end… all I can control is coming to training and doing my best. I am respectful, train well, be a good person and a good leader.

“If (I thought) about it, it would eat you up. I just have to play good football.

“I’ve always said that as soon as the wheels fall off I’ll hang the (boots) up.

“I’m still fighting and competing. I am running good times. Once I am not keeping up with the blokes then it’s time. I’m still there or thereabouts and fighting for it.”

The Newcastle Knights have secured a significant coup by locking in one of the West Tigers’ top stars on a four-year contract, adding a crucial piece to their squad for the coming seasons. This long-term signing has created a buzz within the NRL community, as the Knights aim to build a team that can consistently challenge for titles in the future

Nobody knows who this is yet? Adam Douehi perhaps with the way journalists hype players up calling him a tigers star?
