I can understand more for the Vegas bound teams in pulling out their players. Their season is moved forward a week in terms of scheduling with them having their week off before the season the week the other teams are playing their second trials. Then they play the week after.
It also comes down to how the clubs plan their selections for the trials. Maybe play a stronger team the first week or ensure the All-Star bound players are playing the first week.

Did we pull Tuaupiki as we had injuries? I thought I saw him originally listed with the Warriors selected for the All Stars. I could be wrong but it is worth listing to balance out the debate.
The other thing I have seen around is Stuart mentioning he didn't receive anything requesting his players be released. I am pretty sure I read an article or heard on a podcast one of the All Star sides put a request through to one club and never heard back. Stuart may be right or it is a good way to deflect if proper procedures weren't followed. But it looks like it may have also gone the other way with another club.
