The Mole posted that there are rumours floating around that big NAS is being shopped to other clubs.

Be an interesting prospect, given how Barney was when he came here.

He’s been shopped to us according to this, but the asking price too steep. Have seen tigers and dragons mentioned as possible destinations but with all clubs knowing how keen storm are to see him depart, most teams will dig in their heels to see what storm will chip in. I don’t think there’s a player that can have a greater impact than this guy when he plays to his potential, but massive risks too with him and the nature he plays

NAS has gotten worse and worse over the past 3 years. Clearly on the decline with likely his best past him, injuries, suspensions, he looks like he cant be fucked fitness and mentally. 30 next year. If Belly ache is done with him, I doubt many others could fire him up. I expect him to jump at a Rugby contract somewhere if he can get one. He's a huge personality, I think even if he came on a $300k contract it would be hard to keep his ego in check.

Barnett always had gun in him, but was struggling to be consistent/keeping himself in check. I think having a child and a fresh start was massive. Far different situations.

NAS shopped to us apparently

Would the third party reaching out to the club be his management? Could be a genuine interest in playing for the Warriors? There were rumours earlier in the season we had approached to see if storm were interested in him departing their club

This is a hindsight take. The Barnett trade easily could have turned to shit. Walker is another example of this too.

That being said, I can't disagree with any of the problems you've stated. The crux of this argument is whether or not the club can bring him into the category of the above players.

Just read the article. I agree with this statement. The price is too steep for a rehab project.

Hi, devil's advocate here.

A fit and firing NAS is literally exactly what we need to give us the best pack in the comp. We dont have that big aggressive bludger that can bend the line and send players flying.

IF - and it's a huuuge if - Webby thought he could get the best out of NAS for 2 years I'd be happy with the risk.
It seems that we’re interested in Davvy Moale, so we’ve obviously got our eye on a prop. Between the two there’s the obvious size and age difference, but Moale offers a 93% tackle efficiency and 82m on average from 16 games and NAS offers 94% tackle efficiency and 94m on average from 12 games. Not a lot between them and minutes are varied for both but a big difference is tackle breaks, NAS has 43 to Moale’s 12. There’s no doubt that NAS offers impact, but it would be interesting to know if we see Moale as a long term front rower at the club?

if they want to grow the game, should make the top 30 bigger, then you could have more union converts or novelty signings on the books. Old players who might not play every week, but add value, reward your reserve grade veterans like Going. Instead you have to make space for the youths so can't afford to waste spots on players with limited availability like big Nelson. Or Berry for that matter.
