International New Zealand Kiwis

Wonder what Queensland fans would say if their whole team was Kiwis
Many moons ago I went to my first origin- around the time of Carroll, Thorne etc.
Not really caring who won I decided to wear my kiwis jersey.
We were quite close to the field and just before kick off I stood up to wave to a friend who was higher up in the stands when a qld fan yells out “sit down ya kiwi carnt! what’s a farkin kiwi doing at origin anyway “.
To which I replied “half your team are kiwis ya farkwit”.
Everyone laughed.

Little did he know years later Origin would become just trials for Kiwis test selection

Has he played for the Kangaroos? Does playing Origin or 9s count against him & make him ineligible?
If so, Playing for NZ A should count also. Ben Te Kahu & Jack Howarth should be made ineligible for Australia!!! Lol.

Smell Mafinger knew what was going on. That's why the end of last year he made a big deal of Kayln being unavailable for the end of year tests. When Kayln decided to be available. Thick eyebrows didn't pick him anyway. Absolute Charlie Uniform November Tango!!
Dam that cunning bugger!!!

The system needs an overhaul when someone like Dylan Walker, who hasn't played a Test in a decade, is ineligible to switch his allegiance to NZ but if he had Pacific heritage he could have racked up 20 Tests for an island nation in that timeframe
Yup, as a Blues fan I always wonder what it would be like to have AFB and Haas starting together in Origin.
But he played that one Test for the Kiwis in 2017 that makes him ineligible.

Def needs an overhaul - What exactly is the aim, what are the Australians trying to protect at this point?
The argument about protecting the integrity of Origin and the Aus jersey are long gone - Look at the amount of players opting to play for Tier 2 countries.

And isn't international footy just so much better for it?

Granted it was annoying that the kiwis got gutted when that mass exodus happened, but man it was good to see Tonga looking so much more lethal.

I always maintain that that Mt Eden triple header where Tonga beat AUS was one of the best fixtures I've ever been to.

Yeah, It's great for international rugby league. I think the Kiwi's are unfairly marginalised though.
99% of our talent goes to Australia. Then there is this giant cash cow incentive (SoO) to brush the Kiwis, but not other equally strong national teams.

For sure.

It's just insane to me how hesitant the aussies are to make international as big as it should be.

If representing your state is big. Representing your country should be the pinnacle.

They'll get over it, because they'll get better games to watch.

If Ponga says he has some PNG or Samoa DNA he’s probably instantly be allowed to play for them lol. I reckon those suits are all about the money so if the pitch is Ponga headlines the kiwis against Australia at NewCastle it will be bonkers

Are they not arguing it on 360? lol
