That's actually CRAZY! AD is such a huge part of their offense.
I thought Lakers were after another big man....then they traded one away.
But it's super smart for Lakers as Luka is someone they can build the next 5-8 years around.
In the long run Lakers def win cause LeBron is on his last legs
For this season - not sure who wins. I reckon AD goes into shit down mode without the pressure of LA, LeBron or Reddick expecting him to play every night

Best league example I could think of right now is if in mid-2021, the Panthers swapped Nathan Cleary to the Roosters for Jared Waerea-Hargreaves
Then having Brian Fletcher come out after the trade and saying a strong front row wins premierships, as if he didn't already have a great pack.

But, even a few hours on, I still can't think of a better comparison without a bunch of caveats imo
Like, 2021 Panthers send Cleary to the Roosters for Boyd Cordner, but imagine Cordner wasn't on the brink of retirement and was still basically at the top of his game
Or, the Knights send Ponga to the Roosters for Angus Crichton, but imagine Ponga just took the Knights to the GF last year, and Crichton is 3 years older than he is irl

I cannot imagine how sick to my stomach I would be if I were a Mavs fan
On the plus side ig, AD is already doing good by the team and has declined a trade kicker of about 5 Million which gives the Mavs a lot more flexibility to make another move if they want to.
