The most bastard moment for a player would be to go through the most detailed, rigorous medical possible, pass it 100% and as you're walking back to your car, trip on some loose gravel and do your ACL...
I'm sure the Dragons are liable for any rehab once legal documents have been signed by both parties. But if the Dragons are sensible, the signing happens after the medical comes back as 100% as possible.
I think the Warriors paying for Ronald's surgery wasn't legally required but a bit of a PR move to impress people. And maybe Ronald will remember that if he's looking for another club one day and we want what he offers...
