Just watch.............

Oh Joey and Gus - I feel for you both.

Watched it a million times
It just never gets old!!!!

The instincts and timing to go low and dive early to get the momentum over the time. They don’t teach you that. It’s clutch at its best

Not gonna lie I thought he was going to butcher it when he had DWZ outside and Demetric inside supporting although they were probably offside.

Webby needs him wider outside in space

Maybe he can take that open wing or center spot.

Most tin arse win of the 2025 NRL season 😆.. So much chips had to fall, stars had to align for us to win that.... Glad Boyd got that wake up call now rather then later, lot of work ons, he'll be better for it.... How many times was Dallin just standing in a channel, no man's land as the knights ran past him, ffs dude at least put a hand on someone, very frustrating, on top of the errors and enough with the Capewah to centre move, people are wakening up to it, I was hoping EIT would have got a run there this week... Have we got another gear in us? I hope so, just feels like we stagnating... Just glad we not the only top four side to look shaky this week

This. My partner doesn’t watch much league & she could see it too. We absolutely dominated them the first 20, and set up camp in their 20m. When the ref called a best knock on (which it wasn’t), I just knew he’d swing momentum to make up for it. From that point on til the end of the half, the knights got every single call go their way & they dominated.

What really pisses me off is when refs have too much influence on a game. I actually think that was a shocker from him, controlling who has momentum & when, & giving calls to the opposition to make up for previous blunders. That’s poor reffing imo & podcasters like bloke in a bar & levels are all over it too. They need to sort that shit out.
The strip call with one in the tackle was a howler considering they are letting two in the tackle strips go these days.

I’ve also never seen us clutch a game like that, but we’ve been on the receiving end plenty. Goodness gracious, what a feeling
I travelled from the US to watch us lose like that in Melbourne last year. Coates still lives in my head rent free. Leka will do the same to Knights and Wests fan after this season for years to come as well.

If Capewah can play centre why can't Leka ??? he's not slow

Yes Capewah looked slow too many kilos added on over his break after the QLD win, too many meat pies Beers ??? ..back to the pack for him

Pomps was shifted beside Dallin with 15 to go.
Thats how long it takes AW to correct an issue.
Pompey the unsung hero of the backline.

Where would we be without him? leaking like a sieve on both flanks.

I gave him a solid eight out of ten on the play ratings, probably should have been higher, given he scored a crucial Try and made some critical tackles on Gagai as he always does.

One thing that we cannot afford is to lose this guy this season, people are rabid about Dallin atm, imagine throwing Ali in their as well.

IF and it is a big if, Ali is to come into this side this year, he needs to bring that improved effort in his tackling of this weekend gone and we need Pompey on the other side, or Pompey as Ali's Winger, with Dallin out of the team.

You cannot have a weak defensive winger and a weak defensive Center in the same team, years of Manu Vatuvei and weak Centers proved that, Manu was best with Jerome Ropati minding him. We need to find another Jerome for our other center berth. Could be Rocco if he can stay fit. Could be Ali if he can get a lot better in defence.

Leka can definitely play Center, but we need to know if he can pass a ball.

Positives:
It is obvious he is fast enough, and that he has the footwork, power, instincts to attack.
He has a good attitude for work off the ball, so could learn the defence at center with some intensive coaching and placing him on Capewells side of the field for that extra vocal in game talk and support.

Negatives:

There aren't many if any, but obviously the lack of experience is a biggie but that is what time and coaching is for.

Unknowns:

Can he pass a ball, if not you basically have a Solomone Kata issue.

Pompey most underrated player in our team solid as without him this year we would be cooked as berry and Ali are both injury prone. See Ali played fullback in nsw cup don’t understand that as he certainly won’t be fb in nrl team.

To me it looked like using Ali at fullback was about helping him solve his disengagement problem from the game when the opposition are in possession.

As others posted he has played fullback before.

As such it was a stroke of genius. Forcing him to watch the opposition is a bloody good idea, and making him the hero of tackling situations was another bloody good idea about making him fullback.

He also gets a global view of the game that he is missing at Center.

It seemed to work.

He stepped it up.

Still can't get over that Leka try. You give that ball in broken play to many outside backs in this comp and they'd struggle to do what he did, let alone another forward. It did get me thinking though. We need to utilize him in space more often. So I'm wondering like some other posters if we need to push him further wider into the backline to give him more space?

He has all the skills to be an amazing center. He could end up being the player we all wanted Konnie Hurrell or Kata to be all those years back.

We aren't short of backrowers coming through who could take his place in the back row if we do move him to the backs. Laban obviously but also EIT, Fatialofa who are probably the next cabs off the rank. But none of them have Leka's unique assortment of pace, footwork and silky ball skills.
