It would be pretty rare that the Dally M leading player has been relegated to the bench.
However it’s not a demotion.
It’s tactical.

Ford has become really hard to tackle with an ungainly running style, a late step and awkward to grab.

Really effective first contact defender and even better second or third into the tackle to shut things down.

They should teach him basketball passes cuz the defenders will start circle around him soon opening up rooms outside

Bollocks. He was twice their player of the year. I was an admirer before he got here, and was absolutely stoked when he signed. He was a very good player in a very, very average side.

Anyways... this is a Jackson Ford thread. The players have said that their preseason was ferocious - I wonder if this extra conditioning under fatigue was the extra Ford needed to maintain his performance to the end of his minutes. There is no drop off at all in the side (so far).
In a wooden spoon winning side consecutively. I don't think any one would say excellent at the time. He was average or just above.

He had his issues (injuries and discipline) and the Knights didn't want to re - sign him.
He wasn't in SOO or Kangaroom discussions thats for sure. He grew under Webster undoubtedly.

Boyd would be above Cleary and the table leader if it wasn’t for the Fordinator
