Normally coming home from a game, Its fun to read the post game review. But fuck its some how 90% metcalf/Andrew Webster talk and only 10% about the game that just happened.

Gotta agree with others that live our first half looked prefect. 2nd half was all over the place though. Don't know if i can purely blame the wind as titans had some insane 70ish percent of the 2nd half possession. And in that 1st half it took us an extra set or two to grind them onto their tryline, in comparison to them doing it back to us. By the end of the game it evened out to 49-51% possession in the titans favour. Yet we still blew them out of the water on tackle breaks (19 more), line breaks (1 more), avarage set distance (4 meters more, with 15 less runs). With a ref who was not on our side tonight ( 1 more pen, 4 more six agains). Not many games i can think of where webby has won a game while not having the majorty or even possession.

One thing that we need to fix is our kick defusals. The're just nasty. Penalties, and six agains happen and we can defend them. But failing to catch kicks just fucks the whole plan up. Makes the grind feel useless. Deflates the team. Just look at the broncos v tigers game. So having that at 36% compared to the titans 70% is just embarrassing.

And Metcalf needs a go at Fullback, CNK and Taine are probably both bottom 4 fullbacks in the comp.
The evidence is definitely stacking that way.

I'd like to see him come off the extended bench for some run at fullback, trying to inject him into the game, with an aim towards him starting at fullback after a few weeks (let's be honest, we're not going to put our marquee player in reserve grade to get match fitness)

CHT and Boyd are undroppable at the moment. Meanwhile, fullback continues to be a problem for us.

MY view is we have underestimated the Titans. they are a good side. We knew about their backs, but their forwards were good too. For us CNK looked laboured, but tried his heart out. AKP has sealed his spot, as has Ali. Boyd played OK but into that wind low kicks under the wind are the go. All up as they said is netter to win and learn lessons than lose and learn.

Were you guys even watching the 2nd half? We had all the momentum until CNK unforced error and they scored a couple of freakish tries, especially that one where Hau scored from 2 desperate bat backs. Was pleasing to see we were generally pretty good around the ruck where they tried to offload through the ruck like they did last week with little success. Just good to get the win, Titans are a team on the improve.

The next 2 games are actually really important they are both 2:4 we need to lock down these points to stay on top, we play broncos and Penrith twice each this year
Imo if we're going all the way we need to be tested on the way can't have easy games.

I think we are all reading a bit too much into the 2nd half slowdown. CNK's drop was crucial in giving them some momentum but even then we had wrestled it back and were back on top when Erin went over to make it 28-4. For me, the 2nd half was more about us taking the foot off the gas rather than the Titans playing well. We kind of did the same last week v the storm after it got to 36-14. That's something we need to address. IMO the final score massively flattered the titans with a bunch of late lucky tries off kicks and bounces of the ball going their way and their players running up in support. We were at least 20+ better team on the night.

So the performance wasn't perfect but I'm willing to cop that because there was always going to be a partial letdown from such a high last week. NRL is a long 27 week comp and it's just reality that we can't be at 100% all year round. Every side this year, even the true contenders, are going to have off periods in games. Even the riff have stalled a bit recently with their loss to the dogs and a 2nd half capitulation last night that almost cost them against the Phins. Tigers just completely choked against the baby broncos.

So all things considered, I think we are in a good place. Bring on the Phins at the Cake Tin. We should really be aiming to go 7-2 going into the bye and magic round.

Only managed to watch the first half and thought the team played really well..! Titans made a few half breaks with their speed which we defused . Thankful.

Leka unlucky not to score close to the line. Looked hungry

Ali was STRONG.

Surprised the CHT try was given. In the past 50/50 calls did not go our way and thought the camera angles were inconclusive

What’s up with Boyd’s conversions? Lands a few flukes from the side lines but totally bombs it from further in??

AKP looks great. His try aerial finishes look identical to DWZ?!!! Looks like he’s got good football IQ.

CNK really put his body on the line for the corner tackle. His bigger body does have its benefits over TT speed

No idea what happened in the second half. Warriors of old showed up???

Take the win and celebrate it fellas

These are the hard ones to bank 🏆 🙌

It felt like it started at CNKs drop, which was an absolute bullet.

Big defensive period after that.

Some of titans tries were very lucky imo. Granted, we could have done better to get the outcome to swing our way.

But the they ain't the same old tits, that's for sure. Hannay will do well.

Watching the nsw cup match before the game against the titans it stood out to me of similarities between CNK and fullback for nsw cup Geronimo Doyle. Both do a mountain of work but the unforced errors gave both teams an avenue back. I hate to criticise CNK but he’s had a few moments between internationals and a game or two that I’m sure he’d like back

The shockers he had when he was in the centres has obviously affected him mentally. He dosent seem to be in the right headspace at the moment. Hopefully he finds his feet again. Do you think we could use him off the bench as a 13?

I think he covers enough positions to have him on the bench

I'm just happy for the win 😅

Couldn't watch live so was avoiding spoilers before I could watch the replay, but accidentally saw a mates comment "Warriors shambles" on a chat group preview, so was prepared for the worst hah! Turns out he was just annoyed at the margin costing him a bet, moreso than the act of letting in tries late 😅

Hopefully lessons learned before we come up against a similarly dangerous strike team in the Dolphins, very much looking forward to seeing them live at the Caketin 🥰

Interesting seeing Webster’s pass mark from some as to whether he’s deemed ruthless or soft. Gives the impression that if he follows what the posters want he’s ruthless, but if he goes against he’s soft. It’s mainly regarding the introduction back from Metcalf and how the club will go about it when he returns, but also some had him as a five eighth or nothing despite leading dally m’s at 7 and coming back and not looking as good at 6 partnered with Boyd. Think the club has shown they’re ticking many boxes despite what us fans who aren’t privy as to why every decision is made are doing
