Interesting seeing Webster’s pass mark from some as to whether he’s deemed ruthless or soft. Gives the impression that if he follows what the posters want he’s ruthless, but if he goes against he’s soft. It’s mainly regarding the introduction back from Metcalf and how the club will go about it when he returns, but also some had him as a five eighth or nothing despite leading dally m’s at 7 and coming back and not looking as good at 6 partnered with Boyd. Think the club has shown they’re ticking many boxes despite what us fans who aren’t privy as to why every decision is made are doing

Some of youse are so blinded by “Daly M” you can’t see past the trees

If he’s fit and ready this week. Awesome. You can play Cup to kick that rust off and sort out your timing and kicking. Quite frankly the 2 games he played showed quite clearly he’s not NRl ready

I want Daly M Metcalf back not pre Daly M Luke

Metcalf has a bigger ceiling but he's underdone right now and Boyd has won every game with a non-metcalf at 6.

You remove Boyd while we are winning and Webster will have lost the locker room.

You think Fish is thinking 'this Boyd is a shit cunt, I miss Metcalf?'
It's next man up so when Metty is next man up that's what we'll do. It's the facts around Luke's injury history and his lack of "reps" that holds him back.

He needs a combination of healthy body, match fitness and form. While ensuring team cohesion.

I used the term Batman a couple of games back because Luke is a Batman. But Tanah is also a Batman. And Batman and Batman spend more time arguing over who's Batman than winning games. Chitty is the best Robin in the comp in my highly opinionated opinion. So match either of our Batman's with our Robin and we kill teams. Batman and Batman doesn't work.

The evidence is definitely stacking that way.

I'd like to see him come off the extended bench for some run at fullback, trying to inject him into the game, with an aim towards him starting at fullback after a few weeks (let's be honest, we're not going to put our marquee player in reserve grade to get match fitness)

CHT and Boyd are undroppable at the moment. Meanwhile, fullback continues to be a problem for us.

🤣

Surely not my guy wanting to move our marquee man from half to fullback with no previous experience at first grade there?

Its almost like youre happy to move him to a position that; a) he's less comfortable in, and b) is a less important position overall where he will receive less touches and involvement

Sounds like youre almost struggling

Watching the nsw cup match before the game against the titans it stood out to me of similarities between CNK and fullback for nsw cup Geronimo Doyle. Both do a mountain of work but the unforced errors gave both teams an avenue back. I hate to criticise CNK but he’s had a few moments between internationals and a game or two that I’m sure he’d like back
Tbf i think the error rate for Doyle was much much higher than CNK and CNK makes more metres.
Doyle is cooked in my book.

Something something.. get the best 13 on the field some were arguing in a previous thread! 🙄

But failing to catch kicks just fucks the whole plan up. Makes the grind feel useless. Deflates the team.
The team have been working together to not dwell on errors. Instead to focus on just the next thing. Whether that's a tough set on our line or repeat sets on D.

It's a fascinating reversal of last season's misfortune and fortune for both players to this season's setup.

Both players have high standards of performance with their opportunities in respective seasons starting at 7, however Metcalf's misfortune has robbed him of valuable match fitness and he's literally a dull blade for now whilst Boyd enjoys the deserved limelight.

As luck would have it we will likely have both players firing on the same team before the finals. How that looks is what Webster will have to figure because every other NRL coach would love to have this problem.

IMO Boyd is the better general at 7, THC is the ultimate partner in the halves and Metcalf has the X-factor that is needed to win the BIG GAMES especially from the back..

Metcalf has played enough games at fullback in the NSW Cup to make a fist of it in the NRL off the bench, whether he and Boyd can both play in the halves is the question and is it worth sacrificing THC..

Webster has a good dilema to work through in the coming weeks. It is clear, the CHT and Boyd combination works well. CHT has that steel about him that gives the team confidence and Metcalfe dispite his high ceiling has to accept NSW Cup or bench place.

DWZ and Ali looks solid together so not sure why you would change and AKP and RTS looks promising. Having Pompey at centre does it improve the side.

The interesting one is TT and CNK. It is a fine line. I suspect CNK is just ahead on this but TT deserves to be the utility at least. Which means maybe Metcalfe is in NSW Cup given TT can play wing and step in the halves.

Forwards the selections are easier. Whilst it is a good situation it can also be a problem as Metcalfe would expect to be a walk in into the side.

To make a more potent formula. It's an irresistible temptation.
Bulldogs showed exactly that with Sexton by moving on from him despite winning. It may end up to be the wrong call and people will be thinking it was currently probably, but they made that call on far more information than anyone who’s saying it was wrong. Boyd deserves all the credit he’s getting currently but nothing has shown me yet that if we get to an important game on the line that he can pull it out of the fire and that knights match is etched in my mind of him like a deer in headlights

perfect example

Healey's stints so far in 2026:
vs Roosters 2-8
vs Raiders 22-0
vs Knights 8-6
vs Tigers 4-10
vs Sharks 6-0
vs Storm 0-0
vs Titans 0-16

The positive with Healey getting minutes is hopefully Egan's form doesn't dip later in the season due to fatigue, as it has done in previous year. In a playoff game I'd be tempted for Egan to play 80.
Healey loves a play for himself
