In some ways it is good for everyone to get their head out of the clouds, and be a bit more realistic. We haven't really looked like a top four club bar the Rabbitohs game, which was always an anomaly due to their shitness.

The Dragons defended well all game. I thought we threw enough to crack a team in the first 20, and they didn't. They were tough, and full of energy and played much of the game with a 90% completion rate. Every team we have played (bar the Rabbits) has looked good this year. It is probably no coincidence, and should be of concern.

I think the Aussie pundits saw the RTS name and let it move the needle too far. The expectations for him to be an elite centre are a bridge too far. The weaknesses his game has always had are exacerbated at centre, but where the hell do you play him?

I think we look good with direct runs and short balls among the forwards, but need to sort out our backline shape as teams have them covered, and the crabbing across is impotent.

Injuries are tough, but to use them as an excuse is papering over the cracks. Though I would say that our bench used to wrest the momentum at the 25-30 minute mark, which is where we are struggling at the moment.

Thank fuck we have the Titans next week. No Warriors fan should count their chickens, but I really think this is the right time to get them. I wouldn't be a fan of Anzac Day in Melbourne after the last two weeks.

I'm going to switch off before the string of "Yeah definitelys" in the Sky Post Match show.

We got exposed tonight.

In our defence we have a lot of key injuries. Walker, Niukore, Bunty, Jazz, Metcalf as well.

On the flip side, Webby doomed us with his bench selection. Addin and Barney needing big minutes. Only using Ale off the bench for the first 60mins. Capewell and Harris looked worn out.

Attack not clicking. Trying to be fancy in the first 15mins. Only going one direction. RTS not being a centre. Montoya making crucial errors.

SJ trying to control everything…players not looking cohesive or on song.

I hope this slows down the hype. Ive always felt uncomfortable with this “up the wahs” movement, selling out stadiums and bringing in a ton of casual fans…

They don’t know what we know. Felt what we’ve felt. We knew last year wasn’t enough. Games like this bring back bad memories of the last decade. Dark dark times.

Still not convinced either. But, again injuries have disrupted cohesion this season. Webby got out coached tonight too, our game plan wasn’t good enough.

For 65 mins the Dragons were all over us. Dominant defensively for the most part too.

Next week big. Need to smash the Titans.

Everyone bitching about the bench.

Roache looked great for the ten seconds he got, Laban was solid with fast ptbs.

Pompey got one run and posted good meters.

If Webster did anything wrong with the bench it was protecting his greenhorns too much, should have perhaps thrown caution to the wind. But the thing is, that is easy for me to say, what if they struggle and he wrecks a young mans career for the sake of a shit game.

We got caught out tonight, it happens.

No need to panic. I am not worried at all. Nights like tonight are glitches and they happen in the NRL.

Fans crying about it need to recall the year of quality they were given last year off the same systems.

A bit of a wake up call. We haven't been on for a full 80 all season. The Souths game was nice but realistically that was the easiest opposition.

They have had a tough run of games.

We also will be scouted a lot more this year.

Part of it could be backing up from last week. But they have a short turn around for ANZAC Day and to be honest I can see them turning it around big time next week.

The main thing is to make sure this is the worst performance of the year.

Hate Lomax but hes just been on fire this season.

I know RTS has been getting lots of plaudits from commentators, but how many times this season has he outplayed his opposition? The ball hes getting is not helping but it seens he thinks his role is to show sone brilliance abd not be part of the cog. Not having a decent 5/8 who can setup plays is not helping.

Wouldnt mind giving CHT a chance at 5/8 next week.

Tohu needs a rest. Capewell is a poor mans Tohu. Ford is alright, He works hard. At least he has speed which Capewell left in Brisbane.
We need a don't run at me biarrch Vic Radley type backrower. Backrow of robots is not it.

Dallin needs a hiding from Addin. Stop shooting in on dee Dallin, Upper cut - left hook! Ok toko? U got it siana? You want another bunch?
And his wing partner can drop balls in Nsw cup.

Rts? Fucked if i know. He either plays FB or wing. He is not a distributor. Hes a run , step guy. Let pompey feed him ball and just run roger rabbit! Straight too. Not fucking sideways.

When Nuikore gets back. We have a handy prop rotation. Missing one more big mean bugger to complete it. Doesn't have to be a Tohu Harris endurance bot. Come on for 10 - 15 mins and break some bones.

This was what we had to pick from last night for our bench and we lost CHT to injury.

Interchange: 14-Chanel Tavita-Harris, 15-Tom Ale, 16-Jacob Laban, 17-Adam Pompey, 18-Zyon Maiu'u, 20-Taine Tuaupiki, 21-Ali Leiataua, 22-Edward Kosi, 23-Paul Roache

This was what we had for round 1

14-Freddie Lussick, 15-Tom Ale, 16-Bunty Afoa, 17-Dylan Walker, 18- Adam Pompey, 20-Jazz Tevaga, 21-Te Maire Martin, 22-Ali Leiataua, 22-Jacob Laban

So, we have gone to our 4th or 5th best hooker cover, a centre, a 19 year old second rower, and a relative inexperienced prop in the bench. Add in Ford and Capewell playing injured. Even the less astute observers of the game should be able to understand that the Dragons bench and second rowers over powered us once the initial energy wore off and without at least having some parity there any team will struggle, regardless of how good their attitude is. The stats in the first half after that first 15 minutes were something like 62% possession to the dragons and the rest they were dominating too. It's little wonder we didn't look great and struggled to get anything going.

We desperately need some troops back. When you look at players like Bunty, Freddie, Jazz, even players from last season like Curran and Sironen they actually add more than people give them credit for. And one out is manageable. We are now down to having multiple numbers of them out and that depth is what is the issue.

Some pretty emotional comments made from loads of people on here....gee slight over reaction.

With the injury count, and lack of bench being used....it was only a matter of time before we had a poor performance....you can't maintain that tempo week in week out.

Honestly think the key is trying too stay in touch with the 8 until we get some cattle back...

I expect a massive response on ANZAC day.....if not, then I'll start getting concerned.

I am actually amazed about the comments here today about RTS and the coach and making changes of positions and personnel.
This time last week most of us were okay after coming back from 16 nil and get a 22 all draw against a very good Manly side.

The difference this week was as simple as a little bit of luck and attitudes.

Fix the attitude problem or lack of and get back to what we were doing

We lose one game, albeit by a decent margin, and suddenly it’s all doom and gloom.
I trust Webby to right the ship.
There are no easy games and every year even the teams that finish bottom four still win 4-6 games and bag stuff big scalps.

I am embarrassed by the negativity on here by a lot of regular posters.

I've been harping on about it, but every team is aiming up against us this year.
If the Dragons played that way, against all teams they'd be top 6 imo. But they won't, the same as most of the other teams I've watched since they've played us, they've all played much much poorer. Even Souths had us at 6 all until the 35th minute.

I remember Webby saying at the beginning of the year that we're going to be hunted and we're looking forward to that. Fast forward to rd 8 and we've had no easy games and a bucket load of injuries. We look tired, sore and flat.

I don't know how we turn it around to be honest. Deffo need Walker and a few other players who can change or swing thar momentum when we're struggling.

I like the idea someone mentioned about starting Ale so that we can have Barnett on the bench for some impact. Add in Walker and CHT (so far we seem to be using CHT for 10-15 at the end) as impact players and I think it's gives us an opportunity to go up another gear

It's one game people. The vibe here is almost as depressing as whenever the ABs lose and the country has to analyse it to death. Every team this year, even the best ones, have had at least one shocking game where they just didn't turn up. Penrith had a forgettable night at Brooky a few weeks ago. Sharks had an even more embarrassing one than us against the Tigers. It was bound to happen to us at some point. That doesn't undo all the good that transpired in the previous 6 weeks that had us rightly pegged as premiership contenders this year. Extrapolating from this one game is something we should all avoid doing.

Look for the boys to respond this week. Webby wil have them primed and ready to go after that absolute shocker on friday night.
