Capewell really proving his doubters wrong this year. Sure 2024 was a rough year for him, but it was for everyone in the team. These last few weeks are demonstrating why Webby pushed so hard to get him to us. Not just his work on the ball but his experience off it. LM mentioned in his fox interview that Capewell was the one who went up to him and suggested going for the field goal. His experience playing in big stages like grand finals and SOO is starting to become known in these clutch situations. If ever both Barney and JFH were to be out for us, which is entirely possible during origin, he's my next pick for captain.

You have to feel some of our injuries are coming from webbys inconsistent interchange. We are losing players from them playing too long minutes . We really need to swap Wade out earlier and manage everyones fatigue especially in the second half as we always burn out and let through points which gives us fans heart attacks every weekend.

?
We had 3 guys go off with injuries, Bunty did his knee, Ford ruled out with HIA and Niukore had to go off for HIA assessment, how would you use a 1 man bench?
Agreed. We got hammered with injuries in the second half and TMM played 13. Mental. But that happens in the NRL and despite all that we sucked up all the pressure and still won. Huge.

One thing we have overlooked. We won with a field goal. When was the last time we did that? SJ against Canberra in 2023?

All of a sudden Luke is a genuine threat with the droppie. Me like very much!

The Wahs keep on rolling. Winning ugly. But winning!

Phins next with JFH and RTS back on deck. Possibly Kosi as well… Healy back this week? Will there be a debutant?

Questions….

Iis it me, or when opposition start moving it wide the last couple of weeks we look really thin. Last night on many occasions the gap between LM and Niukore was alarming.
Yep badly exposed there, I noticed multiple times Metcalf didn't even attempt to tackle just stood there.
Him and DaL had a shocka in D last night but we're still winning and Metcalf is growing his game.

Geez we enjoy doing things the hard away. Can’t we just pump a team for once or put it way out of reach early? Beggars can’t be choosers I suppose, and in reality, when I look at the games where there has been big comebacks in the second half, it shows we can really dig deep and hang in there.

A big part of me is concerned about the +1pd, but when I analyse it a bit deeper, we have had some big outs over the last few weeks, so to keep winning at all without them has been remarkable. I would hope that once we get more of our first choice starter’s returning, we may click more into gear.

It was heartening to hear Webby and Mitch both allude to being happy with the win but not the performance. Also stating (not in a cliched way either), that we have a lot of improvement in us. They are being honest and tempered in their approach.

All I wanted out of this season was a solid season where we may scrape into the 8 and for our young guns to get plenty of game time. At the moment it’s exceeding that which is exciting. The future is most definitely bright.
