Team List Dolphins vs Warriors - [Round 11, 2025]

I would like to see Halasima moved back to the bench to provide some spark, and to give him a little rest come on at the 30 and finish the game.
I know I harp on about Martin at fullback, but we’re the best in the league in terms of being parked up in the opposition 20, annd struggle to score. imagine his finesse out the back.
I think this will be the final team.

Tauapiki/Martin
Tuivasa-scheck
Pompey
Nicoll-Klokstad
Watene-zelezniak
Harris-Tavita
Metcalf
Fisher-Harris
Egan
Barnett
Capewell
Niukore
Clark

Healey
Vaimauga
Stowers-smith
Halasima

We need to stop death riding this team. In a season where every team, including the storm, has had incredibly bad moments, we've been the symbol of consistency. Crazy but it's true. Vegas was almost 3 months ago now and we've only lost once since then and risen on the ladder for every week bar one. Boys have earned our faith that they will turn up each and every week. We got this bro.
We have been just winning and we are coming 2nd it feels like were in 3rd gear,
What if we actually start clicking and combinations become slicker edge defense improves slightly we'll put the whole comp on notice. I feel this week we will either click and potentially do a number on the phins or we'll go out with huge fatigue.

expect a few changes today in the team list 24 hours out. I expect it will looo like this..

1. CNK
2. DWZ
3. Pompey
22. RTS
5. TT
6. CHT
7. Metcalf
8. JFH
9. Egan
10. Barnett
11. Halasima
4. Capewell
13. Clark

12. Niukore
15. Laban
16. Vaimauga
17. Healy

14. TMM
20. TSS

Given our lack of centre depth right now RTS comes back in the side there for a match or two max as coverage. Pompey plays right because Webby will not want an edge with two underdone players (DWZ + RTS on right). If TSS comes into consideration it may be for Healy to give ourselves more options for forward rotations if we get these guys into a grinding game

Feels like we will go through their front door up the guts and give their outside backs no time or space, working out from their own end.

I don’t feel this is the banana skin. Rather I think playing at Suncorp will feel familiar to the guys. I’m expecting us to grind them into submission where they have to chase the game.

Wahs by 10.

Pomps is marking Herbie. I trust him to do a job and keep him quiet as he has done all season against more fancied opponents. As for the other center spot, either way I don't think we use Capewell there for this game. Either RTS is fit or we can use MGT for this week only since the rd 10 rule no longer applies for this game. Either case Capewell shifts back to the second row, Marata to the bench and one of TMM/Healey to drop off. So I'm hoping the adjusted side looks something like:

1. CNK
2. DWZ
3. RTS/MGT
4. Pomps
5. TT
6. CHT
7. LM
8. JFH
9. Egan
10. Barney
11. Leka
12. Capewell
13. Erin
14. Marata
15. Demi
16. Laban
17. Healey/TMM

PS: I'm not sure if the TSS rumors suggest another middle forward injury that we don't know about yet or its a coaching decision to go with 4 forwards on the bench for this one (ie dropping Healey/TMM option from bench).

JFH coming back is huge for this team. Listening to Stacey's interview on Sport Nation, it seems that JFH and Barney are very different types of leaders. Barney is more vocal whereas JFH inspires the young middles through his actions rather than words. He mentioned how Laban and Leka in particular are often the last to leave training alongside JFH doing the extras. With JFH back on the field, I think our middle defense intensity goes up a gear for this game.

Also I expect DWZ to be more involved in this game as he was a little passive last week, probably blowing off some cobwebs. With DWZ, RTS and CNK all back together, I expect our power game to go to another level. I also expect Barney and Wade to lift in their last auditions before origin. In short, we should be raring to go again rather than burning out on our last fumes as many in the media seem to be suggesting.

I think it might have been Leka in a recent interview saying how the young boys try to match Fish in training etc, so he is definitely having an impact with his actions

Remember that most teams will start clicking as the season progresses, the second half of the season is always much better footy. You can guarantee if we don't start clicking we will be left behind very quickly.

I wonder why ? Is there a forward injury or is RTS not ready yet
If it is true it is just more evidence of the rebuild year approach by the club.

They are giving everyone they can a little spot of NRL time. It makes lots of sense if it is about preparedness for injuries and for these players individual pathways.

I like that they dropped Healy leaving us wanting more, to me it is no different to how they have handled their other young Stars.

Leka is really the standout that maybe got less of the dropped back down method, well you can see why he is well beyond his years in ability.

Agreed and to add to that, it’s not just what JFH has brought to the team and the positive influence he has on the young guys as well as the wider team, but also letting go of bad influences on the team which likely had a big impact on last year. Speaking with someone very close to the club they highlighted this point to me, it’s not just what we’ve gained but also the poor off field influence we have removed and replaced.
