Big shout to Pompey, I’ve been a pretty big critic of his, only because ge moves like a slug but man he’s been solid.
Imagine he had pace, would be a top 3 centre.
Anyways when Leiataua gets back, back to his preferred right side with Pompey left.
That really is perfect because Pompey looks at home on the left and Leiataua is best on the right for his attack. Think Berry could struggle to cope if that happens, he’s too good to be playing nsw cup

I can't be bothered reading through 14 pages so will summerise.
Great game (defence wins games) but we had a few dodgy calls go our way.
I'm sure the ref tried real hard in the second half to square things up with all those six again calls but the Phins kept dropping the ball and we defended like our lives depended on it.
Andrew Webster has built a real TEAM culture and the boys all play for each other and the jersey.

And he vary rarely gets pinged for any of it. Absolute maestro at controlling the ruck.

Until he gets sent from the field at a crucial moment. I get that he's a good player. He is an NZ test player so he's one of the best in the business.
And Kos mentioned that he's a hard man from Kohukohu. That's fine. And I'm sure that growing up there you didn't mess with him. But scaring people with the threat of physical violence in Kohukohu doesn't count for much on a footy field. Watching him and Clark mouthing off at the Dolphins forwards reminded me of Mick Ennis or Reed Mahoney. It's just empty dickhead bullshit. Everyone knows that no one is going to throw a punch. And they all kiss and make up at full time.

I think I'm talking about mana. Tohu Harris didn't slag people off. But opposition players gave him the respect he was due. You didn't mess with Tohu. Mitch Barnett too.
The young guys coming through are watching. We've already seen that Leka has a cheap shot in him. Last night they were shown by their captain that it's OK to be disrespectful beyond the norm. To stand in a players face and scream insults at him. They were shown by their captain that it's OK to risk 75 minutes of hard slog by the whole team and a win to get his own cheap shot in. JFH braced and dropped his shoulder and went to the bin with the game on the line.
If he was foreman on my old crew and he did something dumb that got him banned from the site nearing the end of a job we'd be having a conversation about his future. OK footy is a bit different but what he did was dumb. He put the team under pressure as the Dolphins were building. I wasn't prepared to bet against them at that point. And if we lost we'd be 7 and 3 and the run would be broken. We're top 4 and everything is crucial. He should know that

how I seen everyone individually.

tanner - solid debut some nice defensive pressure under heavy fatigue
RTS - better for the run rocks and diamonds
Pompey - played to his strengths just solid
Clarke - more of the same must jag a try soon
Fish - mature effort slowing the play the ball winning head games just being a menace there was a set on try line he made 4 big tackles in a row
metcalf - enterprising good kick options at times and under rated on cover defense making it a habbit
Cht - not beating the world but very solid that side of the field was iron walls
Leka - solid game looks like a vet already at times ( when he was watching with a massive smile while fish and clarke were in a push and shove says we keep him )
Cnk - yeah gets a pass
Egan - good but would love to see healy get 30 mins especially towards the end of long blocks of games
barney - more of the same done what we have come to love and expect
dwz - better than last week but still far from 2023 run could build into the season this is game 2
laban - best game so far trend of juniors living up to expectations continues
capewell - having a lomax moment haha your a center son !
demi - unfortunate
martata -best game in a while and domino effect of middles doing there job only so many big bodies you can stop
tmm - didn't really notice him in the game to be honest unsure why

TMM played the last 7 minutes for Egan. Webster puts a lot of faith in his entire team, bench and all. We were playing with 12 so it was a defensive effort at that point to keep them out. Egan looked like he reeled out of a tackle too at one point I thought? When people talk about someone like Hiku just being a natural footy player, I feel like TMM is the same. Apart from his size, not being able to be a front rower or an edge forward, I feel like he could play any other position on the field

Just finished watching a replay and I don't care if we win by 1 point each game except the heart might have something to say bout that. The guys are going so well.A win at home over the Raiders would top off a great last few weeks.I thought DWZs performance is a long way short of his best.Maybe father time is giving him a hint we shall see.
When is Isaako off contract. He’d be a handy addition.

Are the refs favoring us or have we turned a corner in our discipline ?

Usually at the start of a game we're constantly pinged for infringements .

This season, especially the last few games, we've somehow managed to stay on the refs side and not give away pointless penalties or repeat sets.

Its really been the highlight for me this season.

Well done to the coaching staff and players for this.
