I'm OK with the way
AW is building this team. We have struggled for years to hold teams out for repeat sets on defence and I think that's been the priority so far this year. Players have been put in place with a plan in mind and they are learning their roles well.
Attack will come when players become available. I don’t believe the plan is to win the competition this year.
Metcalf is learning his role and he's being given the room to do it. It's a shame Leaiatua and
Berry been out because I think they're part of the same plan. We are stuck with our wings until the end of their contracts and I'm sure there is a plan for their replacement. And a fullback too
I'm honestly enjoying what I'm seeing this year. Obviously winning helps but for the first time in many years I believe we have a plan that goes beyond the next game. And we have the some of the key people on the management team to make sure the plan is working.
On last night I felt that we were lucky to win. We defended well but they were 2 tiny knock ons away from 2 tries. And the
RTS knock on should have been an offside penalty to the Dolphins not a try to us. That's 12 to 18 points.
I hate 6 agains. There needs to be an explanation every time one is given. Even if the game stops for a few seconds. Yes some are obvious but so many seem to be discretionary. I'm sure a few replays for everyone to see in the stoppage would cut down the square ups.
And am I the only one dirty on
JFH after last night?I thought he was over the top with his aggressive attitude with the Dolphins players. It's easy to be a tough guy when no one can smack you in the head. I can't remember too many big moments on defence or hard charging runs to back it up. Apart from the shoulder charge at the end. And that was just dumb play. The game was at a critical point with the Dolphins getting some momentum and he gave away a penalty. He also leaves himself open to being suspended while our top forwards are on Origin duty. Kind of reminds me of the knuckle headed thugs we used to have. I hope
Webster has a word. Or two and gets him settled down. There's a difference between dominant and being a bully
