Pick Your Team Dolphins v Warriors - [Round 11, 2025]

Wouldn't life be so much easier if Ali or Berry was fit this week!
Yes but nobody gets through a season without injuries. That's why we need the entire squad available as much as possible for as much of the season.

I'd purposely rest key blokes throughout the year. Fish has had a rest via injury so plays less games throughout the entirety of the season.

My hunch tells me that the Cows game would have ended alot smoother if Berry wasn't injured.
Games like that will be recalled in the intensity of finals footy if we keep clocking up wins to get there.

*Edit
Those games with pressure and adversity are great for our guys as a reference point. Ennis commented around the time after Taumalolo offloaded late and they went on to score that the Warriors weren't handling the chaos. Well they did and did again against the dragons

Absolutely.

Honestly 2 games away, on the road, is immense.

If we jag another win at Suncorp, we are in such a good position. Three wins away, in a row, is confidence building.

The Raiders game will require the crowd to be borderline hostile.
That is going to be a massive game Vs raiders. They kicked our arses in Vegas. I'd love Hudson Young to get clobbered by Leka. And for our pack to dominate for 80min

We have a great forward pack.

They have the monster pack we're rumoured to mythically have
This was their starting pack last week:
8. Francis Molo
9. Kurt Donaghue
10. Felise Kaufusi
11. Kulekifu Finefuaki
12. Ray Stone
13. Tom Gilbert

This is our likely starting pack this week:
8. Fish
9. Wade Egan
10. Barney
11. Leka
12. Niukore
13. Erin

You really taking their pack over ours? Man for man, we have the clear edge in the forwards.

JMK and Daniel saifiti should be back.
JMK re-opened an infection for his injury according to the dolphins forum, so odds are he doesn't play. Dolphins biggest weakness is their softness in the middle and the stats back that up when you compare us to them. We are third in average overall running meters, pcms, 4th in average possession rates and are first in tackles in opposition 20. Conversely the Dolphins are in 12th position for all of these key possession stats. By any objective metric, we have the better pack.

That game is going to be origin impacted. So Hudson Young, Horsbrough won't be playing against us. They'll also be missing Nicholson who got a big injury against the dogs on the weekend. So they'll be bringing a depleted pack to MSS next week. Conversely, we'll just be missing Barney.

Although it's great getting wins no matter what, I'd rather not have another nail biter this weekend. Teams that do well in the pointy end of their season time their runs perfectly by not burning themselves out in the early parts of the season. So we can't keep playing nailbiters every week. It's eventually going to catch up with us. What's most frustrating is that the last 2 weeks could have been 13+ victories if we hadn't gone the conservative route of taking penalties when we are absolutely dominating our opposition physically. So in this game when we control the possession, we need to put the foot on the throat.

Yeah I was referring to the raiders due to an in thread pre talk about the raiders game coming up which you've referenced in your other post. Regarding dolphins, their speed is my real concern. Not their pack

Ok. Sorry for misinterpreting. I agree re the Raiders pack which is probably the biggest in the comp. Brisbane forwards are big but they are weak mentally and fold the moment they are brought into a grind. Raiders are both big and mentally strong. Lucky for us, we will be facing a depleted version of their pack next week. But that's next week's battle.
