We were really good. But Raiders were also very poor. Trying not to get too excited so would like another week to see how we go.

Tapine's post match mentioned "we struggled with the new rules" - does anyone know what he meant by this?
they were poor because we dominated the ruck and put them under immense pressure that they couldn't handle. Not the other way round.

I disagree entirely.

Raiders had nearly 80% completion in the rain (we were better with 86%).
They had significantly faster play the ball, more run meters made per set, more line breaks, far more offloads (13 to 2!), and a higher tackle effenciency.

In that first half they looked like they'd run riot, with a lot of their backs looking really dangerous.

And then we fucking smashed them. They were really good tonight. We were just far, far better.
significantly faster play the ball is the best indicator of how the Raiders were cheating in the ruck. Even worse than the chooks last week. I mean some of the blatant shit like Horsborough openly kicking the ball when Egan got up to play it was professional foul territory. But they had to do that because as soon as our bomb squad came on (Demi and co) and Tapine went off, we started blowing them out in the middle.

Look we might get there, but on form Metcalfe comes in for neither Boyd or CHT on form. Can we not pretend CHT didn't have a blinder last week? Two tries, silky ball to Capewell, defending like a champ as always.

He comes in on contract mate.

CHT despite playing very well is the obvious position.

I actually think Healey is the big loser out of all of this as I expect CHT will get the 14, which I wouldn't disagree with.

Healey has to be part of the team now. We have a great thing going with Egan/Healey. Egan plays the first 40-50 where he sets up the middle dominance through his targeted passing game and clever manipulation of the ruck speed. After the middle dominance is established, we blow teams out of the water in the final quarter with Healey's explosive running game which Egan can't match due to his aging legs. Raiders were sweating bullets every time he got the ball.

Two weeks I've tipped Wahs 13+. Feels good
Two weeks I've tipped Wahs 12 -.
Because I wasn't sure they could do it.
Feels bloody good
What do I know? It's still Just A Matter Of Faith.

That was the best all round performance I have seen from the Warriors in a long long time. Webby seems to have changed the style of attack slightly over the off season and it's paying dividends. It's a good time to be a Warriors fan

Great performance against a good side. Don’t think anyone had a bad game and we are putting a lot of pressure on the opposition defence around the ruck. Both games that’s taken a toll on the other team and the floodgates have opened.

Webster and Jones are doing a great job with the number 7 jersey. SJ, Martin, Metcalfe and Boyd have all stepped in to the jersey at some point and done a good job.

Not sure a Boyd/Metcalf combination will work that well. Metcalf has played his best football at 7 and Boyd needs to be on the ball to be effective. Good problem to have if all the halves stay fit as will the props when Barney gets back.

Just my thoughts that Boyd would go ok at 6 with Mets @ 7.
2 reasons .Boyd kicking from 6 would give him more time to kick & secondly to protect Mets a little from the defensive tasks @ 6. Big middles tend to target the 6 more.Think Ponga didnt last long in the 6 jersey.
Boyd has a pretty muscled frame & his good on D.

I can actually see Mets/TB combo working with CHT going to utility bench impact with his stinging defense. They complement each other naturally: Mets has the X factor, Boyd has the better general kicking game and can implement systems attack efficiently as we've see the last 2 weeks. CHT can go to bench impact vs Healey. The only issue I see here is that Mets clearly wants to be the 7 and run the team.
And so what happens next year when there's no Tannah, no CHT and no TMM. Move Metcalf back to 7? Or cry when he demands an compassionate release for fucking him around and we have zero NRL halves 😂

In my opinion, the player who improved the most from the Roosters game was Ali and his defense. After the Raiders scored, I was thinking they’d target him all night. But he not only lifted his defense, he started hitting players harder and was often first man to the tackle.

The motor in Ford is immense.

Leka just keeps on doing what Leka does.

Fish has the sort of mana of our three greatest captains… Campo, Pricey and Mannering. The boys just look like they never want too let him down…. or are just too scared too.

TT certainly didn’t look out of place playing FB in FG.

But Boyd was my MOTM. Running the show, the 20/40, the try. And not having a recognised halves partner for most of the game.

Scoring at nearly a point a minute in the second half against last years Minor Premiers is really great. There aren’t too many teams who would be looking forward to an away game at Penrose this year.

And, an honourable mention to the crowd…. the noise you made sounded fantastic on tv. Well done!!!

Why wouldn't we extend Boyd and CHT? What do we do for the other half a season Metcalf is injured. Some were questioning having as many halves as we do on the books yet here we are with one fit genuine first grade half to pick

I'm not 100% convinced CHT would drop out. When he's conscious CHT is a much better defender than Metcalfe or Boyd, and we know Webby is a defence first coach. Secondly neither Metcalfe or Boyd would have spent much time at 6 in the preseason..

Lastly we're a compassionate grounds club, we could lose any Aussie player due to family stuff, where as CHT is at home now

Imo Boyd probably goes back to cup.
