🤖 Thread Summary

This was a Warriors game day thread for a major preliminary final between the Warriors and Brisbane Broncos, marking the Warriors' first finals appearance of this magnitude in over a decade. Beastmode #12279 and other fans expressed intense excitement and support with rallying cries of "Up the Wahs," Hatchet Harry #12293 reflected on how the team had already achieved so much by capturing New Zealand's hearts and going global with their fanbase. The pre-game atmosphere was electric, with fans acknowledging this was the biggest game in years while expressing cautious optimism about their chances against the favored Broncos.

The discussion revealed deep emotional investment from long-term supporters who had endured years of disappointment. Warriorshopeful #12283 analyzed tactical advantages, believing their experienced players and reliable style could overcome Brisbane's faster but error-prone approach, Makasene #12316 emphasized the 12-year wait to reach this stage. The community spirit was evident with fans gathering at venues, wearing jerseys proudly, and experiencing widespread public support with random "Up the Wahs" shouts from strangers, wizard of Tauranga #12402 experienced on the Gold Coast.

Once the game began, the thread transformed into a live commentary filled with frustration over officiating decisions. Multiple controversial calls, particularly a disputed forward pass try that fans felt changed the game's momentum, dominated the discussion. Bluecat #13152 and other supporters expressed outrage at what they perceived as unfair refereeing that denied them a legitimate chance, KPWarrior #13170 acknowledged that despite the officiating issues, the team still wasn't quite good enough but was progressing in the right direction.

The final sentiment was bittersweet - intense pride in the season's achievements mixed with disappointment at how it ended. Iridescent #13157 maintained pride despite the loss, Bruce #13195 felt the scoreline didn't reflect the true contest due to poor officiating. 1995warriorsfan #13247 acknowledging "it wasn't our day" and directing discussion to continue in the post-match thread, encapsulating a season that exceeded expectations but ended in heartbreak.

I can assure you my friend. We ain’t losing by 50!!!

Against Penrith 6-12 second half

Knights 24-6 second half blitz

If we can hold them out in the first half, then I give us every chance of winning today.

Just need to get over any nerves, and not let them get a fast start like Penrith. Hold them out, keep it simple. Complete your sets. No mistakes.

The first 15-20mins of this game will be crucial.

We about to go into battle. This is War.

Get hyped!!!! 😂
exactly without SJ .. how would the Panthers have been without NC !! .. As we seen when SJ was back to a good knights team ..

WARs mistakes with the hands and just poor edge D let the Panthers score most of their trys ... they also had HOME advantage and ref that didn't seem to see any Panther mistakes..

And I was thinking just maybe it's a better way to go if we win tonight without any major player injuries I think that going to be a massive boost to have another crack at the Panthers ..Vs Panthers coming in real cocky ..

I am based in Alexandra, while it is a pretty sports mad district it would be fair to say rugby league is pretty far down the list. Today was the Blossom festival and parade and every where I went I was hearing up the Wahs. Multiple people on main stage implored the crowd to up the Wahs. Tonight we drove home from the fireworks and the kids yelled up the Wahs to pedestrians, the most common response was an echo. All over NZ and Australia the place is buzzing for the Wahs

It so nervous now, being honest.

For the long-serving fans, we’ve endured a tough few years supporting this club.

We’ve dreamt of times like this - where the entire nation is behind our team, kids everywhere are shouting “up the Wahs”.

We’re the talk of the town during a Rugby World Cup.

And that’s nice and all, it really is.

But for us fans - tonight is it. This is where they prove they belong here on the highest stage.

Here they prove they’re the real deal.

That doesn’t have to come via a win either. We’ll know either way.

Could be, maybe, the biggest game in club history.

Let’s go guys and girls. Enjoy the game. Look forward to the chat.

Looking forward to the future.

❤️💙💚
