Team List Brisbane Broncos v NZ Warriors - [Round 11, 2026]

I know Ford has been getting a lot of attention across the NRL. Well deserved.

Yes he has a big motor but it is a long season and playing 80 minutes in the middle has been getting a lot of praise. However I like this change to move him to the bench. Similar to last year he can come on after 20-25 minutes. Still play a long stint if needed. He can come off the bench in the middle part of the game still do a lot of clean up work.

Hopefully, Barnett can get string some games together. It would be good if we continue to win and we can push to achieve something in his final year. He's been good for us.

Expecting big games from

Capes
Tanah
Mitch and
Ford

All pushing for an origin jersey

Dam would be mad if all 4 get called up
Can’t see a world in which Capewah and Barney don’t play origin. Jacko and Tanah just don’t feel prestigious enough, if May doesn’t get picked for his 80 min efforts I doubt Jacko will, and why would you pick Tanah when DCE and Roosters halfback extraordinare Sam Walker exists

It's all just guess work in the end anyway, so nothing really gained by trying to read the tea leaves.

He may have been given permission from the club to take some time off, go back to Aus talk to clubs/see family etc.

Nobody knows or really needs to know as hes surplus to requirement currently, so its hardly a pressing issue with TMM back and fit.
Well we have more than just flecks of tea leaves.

We know for a fact that Metcalf has not been picked this week.

I do not understand why people are trying to normalize the missing Metcalf thing as 'having time off' when he is a contracted player and the club have officially announced that their immediate plan is for Metcalf to remain at the Warriors for the rest of the season.

It is highly irregular for a player that has a contract to be given time off to go talk to the opposition and or even more irregular to be overseas in the midst of an NRL season. The November deadline exists for a reason. To spare clubs this exact kind of bullshit.

This situation is Metcalf's doing. The Warriors are under no obligation to let him take time off his job for a week (think about how ridiculous that situations sounds in the real world 'boss I am taking the week off to talk to other companies').

There is something wrong in the State of Denmark.

Well worth speculating over.

And Metcalf doesn't even need to go anywhere for his next contract negotiations, he has an agent, he has the internet.....

Given the curt statement from the Warriors that they will not make further comment until they get clarification from Metcalf's management is heavily suggestive of a Metcalf melt down actually....otherwise Cameron George would have said that Metcalf was taking time off with the clubs blessing.

Waiting for his management....in other words we don't know exactly wot these clowns are up to because they aren't being transparent....stay posted signed Cameron George.

Fair enough mate, and this is 100% not a jab at you.

I'm just trying to minimise the 1000+ maybe this, maybe that posts, so there's less shit to wade through when I pop on here every so often 😅

So far, Based on evidence collected from the forum. This whole mess went like this

Mets - Coach, I'll play 6 temporarily. But I was signed to play 7. And that's where I want to play.

Webby - Well at the moment Luke, Tannah & Chanel are playing well.
Earn that position back from the bench. Prove to me that you're the better 7. Or if Tannah or Chanel get Injured. It's yours to try & hold on to.

Mets - Calls his agent - Webster said i have to earn the 7 back, Or play 6? No, no...I want the 7 or I'll walk. And, Fuck Tannah aye.

Agent - Hi Andrew, I need reassurance about Luke's future role at the club?

Webby - the fuck? I told him already?

Agent - Well what is it?

Webby - He can play 7 then.

Agent - That's great news!

Webby - In Nsw Cup, Take that ya cunts.

Agent - We would formally like to seek approval to speak to other clubs?

Webby - Other clubs? You mean puss balls Gus Gould? & Tell Luke he's welcome to come pick up his gear & toys from his locker. Also, Tell Luke to stop keying Tannahs car. We've got it on camera.

Mets - 🖕🏼

Close?

What do you think the warriors have to gain with playing him at all?
ACL injuries take a long time to get back to 100% on, so i think TMM would be as good a 7 if injury does occur. He'd be blocking jett in cup. If he's out their negotiating for his next contract than we have a much lower risk of having a ryan matterson style 900k as dead weight for next year.

I realise your question is somewhat rhetorical but I'll speak to the issue anyway....because in normal operations the NSW cup option offers the same advantages it did before this blew up i.e. regular games for an NRL player to stay fit and NRL ready.

Good for optics and good for team culture had Metcalf just gone and run around in cup for ten minutes off the bench this week.

Personally (and this is not against Metcalf - I don't even hate the guy) I hope we flick him before he breaks something. I don't actually want to see him in NSW cup or the NRL till he is gone.

The short sharpe message from CG and Luke missing completely from all team list is telling. The club, players and fans are team Boyd. Back him 100%.

Luke is the heel. Sorry mate you put this on yourself

Trying to back the club into a corner with a “please explain ? “. Stupid. But ballsy.

If anything this fiasco might galvanise the players even more and isolate Luke further ….

I can’t see how LM comes back from all this ….

We lose this weekend. I am blaming Luke

Let's move away from Mets and look at the fundamentals of the game.

Looking at the Broncos team list, it is obvious that their depth is concentrated in the backs. Even with all their outs, they still have a dangerous backline that is capable of scoring pts. But that forward pack leaves a lot to be desired. No Jensen, Goskiewski and Haas, three of the middles that played against us last time we were at Suncorp. They're basically down to their last few NRL ready middles in Wilson and Talty.

So it's clear where we need to target. This Broncos pack had no answer to the Roosters or Manly when both went through their middle. Run Leka at Mam all day who has had several defensive shockers over the last few games. And kick the young fella Coates to death. Make his debut one to forget.

Do all of that, and ignore the magic round atmosphere and Metcalf noise, and we should be too good for them on Sunday. There's actually a chance of rain on Sunday which probably works against their gameplan as well.
