I was at Mt Smart using the athletic track today, two warriors werent training.

One was Rog (injured) the other was Metcalf. Dont see him playing again this year

It will be really interesting to see what happens here.

I have stood up for Metcalf, but if he chooses to take off in the middle of the season then that would be a low character move that wouldn't be excusable in many situations. Squads are carefully planned, the club has ensured that there is depth in the position by specifically shopping for a back up in Tanah (to join TMM). Metcalf is contracted and obligated to be part of that depth for this season, otherwise you leave a club, your team mates, its fans and a country in the lurch. That, without full context, would be a dick move for sure.

I think we'll be able to read the situation well by how much Webby goes into bat for him in the weekend's media.

I say let him jump on the horse - even if it is a NSW cup horse. Be good for everyone to see if he can get through a game with his hamstrings intact. Give his management team more leverage too.
